Good Lord man! What the hell is up with that plate in your lip?!?
And that was great... "...another bump on a herpe..."!
Pardon my ignorance but what are you using to get those closeups? An actual macro lens? Or something else? And if macro then what/how much to buy one?

shroomage is great!!! hey .... y do you think the cleaner wrass is a bad idea?? i just got a job a pet store and they got one in and he looks healthy and eats well ...looks good and is 15 bucks and i saw wat he looked like when he came in and he looked fine? i know about the hole topic " dont take them off the reef "but science he is out the reef he would look better in my reef!
Kraylen
Jun 1 2009, 07:07 PM
He will die, they usually feed off parasites from other fish. Even if he looks good, and is eating... he will not get the nutrition he needs to "thrive."

Good to see things going well for you! For a p&s camera, or any camera for that matter, the pictures are amazing. You have so much empty space to work with. Better get reefing.

Hey kray you seem like a pretty big mystery wrasse fan. I'm in the process of setting up a 15g++(abit taller than the standard ones) 2' long tank. I noticed they are similiar in size and character to six line wrasses which people house in 15gs. Is there any reason I
shouldn't be housing a mystery wrasse in mine?
EDIT: Ok just read your comment on
http://www.nano-reef.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=44030Guess I know your answer =(.

warty? Thought about it. I don't want to be feeding live food. Possible to ween on something simple? Like frozen mysis cubes?
Psychosis
Jun 3 2009, 10:01 AM
Going by everything I read, it's preety easy to ween them off of live and on to frozen, but that's for another thread.
Tank still looks good kraylen.

Thanks man.
I did a new DIY last night I'll post a thread for and a link here.
Its a dual-level magnetic frag rack. Cheaper than a mag float and looks 10 times better.

You know, this tank isn't half bad either

. I really think once things start growing in, this is going to be amazing! I wish I had room for another (and larger) tank.
Also, heading up that way sometime next week for the sister's graduation, but weren't you interested in some monti's i had, or something. Can't totally remember.

Pretty sure it will be glass. Coworker having garage sale to pay for a trip to Ethiopia. Doesn't really sound like a good tourism place, but whatever.
It was used as a freshwater tank I believe for about six years, hasn't been cleaned. Sounds like I'm buying some vinegar. Comes with a bunch of old FW stuff. We'll see.

Glad too see you are joining the 4 foot beast clan
Tankwise: I think it is time to make a new damn top as my favorite fish was dried up on the tile today. I knew this was coming yet being so damn busy at both jobs + finals I didnt finish my new tops and now I am facing my mistake. *shrug* ish happens, its not like my corals are gonna jump haha.

That really sucks. I hadn't even considered the new and exciting things I could keep in a 50 though. At least there are plenty of fish in the sea.

Jun 4 2009, 12:04 PM
Sad day, turns out it isn't a 55, it's a 30 long. I think it's still worth $35 though.
Kraylen
Jun 5 2009, 12:39 AM
30 long is a nice tank!
Today I got a bunch of blue steel/bonnet/hornets call them what you will... they are pretty cool. I dont see the overhype but theyre different. Personally I think purple deaths and nuke greens are kinda bleh... but its cool to have because they were so popular ya know? Another coral to add to the collection.

Not my picture but I got some of the colony

Jun 5 2009, 12:45 AM
I know how you feel man, I've got a frag of purple deaths. There so so. Cool, don't get me wrong, but it hasn't altered my tank in a color explosion.
I don't know why, but I saw that picture and "stop looking at me, shwan" popped in to my head.

Jun 5 2009, 12:56 AM
Hey, Kray,
I just made a top for my aquarium so that I could insure nobody jumping out of it. It's made from window screen and the aluminum frames. It looks extremely good. I could let you know how I made it if your interested. Do you have a 55gal with a center brace? Two 24" sections?
Kraylen
Jun 5 2009, 01:08 AM
Yeah, Its no problem to make, but I got alot of hanging sh!t on the back of my tank so I gotta create some ninja style top to go around everything. :|
Reefer Al
Jun 5 2009, 01:10 AM
aww, gotcha. I just remembered you saying that you made one and it was total crap so you chucked it lol. Sadly my screen is mainly to lower the light level in my tank. I have too much light and the darkest areas are bleaching my softies.
