I would love one but I'll end up getting a mutt again There cheaper LOL I can't get another dog though it's not fair to Madison. Sleep overs are fine but staying forever is not good she is too old for a puppy. Good job on fixing the overflow problem. I almost had the same problem a snail got into the overflow tubes slowed the water down alot the display water was at the rim. Glad I was home to shut it down. I got the sucker out and all is good now I put a cover on the overflow box so it won't happen again.

I get it. Dogs do reach a point where they don't want a new roomie. My Boris would love one, but I can't imagine juggling another at this point.
Yeah, I've had the snail stuck in the overflow tube also. I've got some egg crate over the overflow box now. Keeps the big ones out.

Weirdest stomatella ever! At least an inch big, larger when stretched all the way out. When I noticed it, it was stretched away from the overflow box, with only part of the foot hanging on. Looked like a bizarre dancing water snake.
Maybe it isn't a stomatella?

By the time I got the camera, it was securely suctioned to the overflow. Of course.

I thought about posting it in the id forum, but figured the odds are it's just a well fed stomie, and I'd be cyberstomped for not recognizing it as such.

I know the feeling. This was the first year that my arm wasn't temporarily (a few hours) paralyzed as a result of the shot, so at least this year was good.
Oh, and I have mentioned to ya'll that I know how the swine flu got started?

So how come I still have to do water changes?

Sorry Mark, you'll have to wait on pics. My daughter had a test done that left me in the hospital all day yesterday, and still needing to keep both eyes on loopy-after-general-anasthesia girl today.
Besides, Monkey Boy is the only one who's commented so far on my stellar stomatella capture.

I have a few Stomatella's in my tank, I think I got them as hitchhikers a while back or something since I've never deliberately added them.
Cool little critters, I'll probably relocate one to my Pico in a week or so.

Hi Weets!
I know I have more stomas, Dan. Most are in the sump, and I think some got eaten over the past month, but I'll try to trap and isolate a couple for you.
Rocky Road is good, but Coffee Heath Bar Crunch is better.
I've spent the last I don't know how many minutes reading the Monty Python routine over in Vendor and Trader Feedback. "That, sir, is an

ap123
Nov 11 2009, 08:38 PM
I'm still not so sure it's broken. I found old threads here on the Tunze 9002 (I have the 9005) that describe a similar happening from a plastic elbow getting clogged.
I think it's worth taking it apart again to see if there's something I can soak in vinegar and magically unclog.
Tomorrow, I hope. I still have dog walks to do tonight. yawn.

I vote Harlequin Shrimp ... although you will have to deal with the hacking of choco chip starfish legs once they deplete the asterina population ... which they will ... very quickly at that.
Sorry to hear about the skimmer ... was about to post ... clean it out ... until I saw all the others. lol ... but in either case ... CLEAN IT OUT!

Nov 13 2009, 01:27 PM
Hi Guys!
Ummm, if I get to the point of needing a critter to eat asterinas, David--I'll just pass it on to you when I'm done. Considering I can't get myself to frag anything, I don't see me hacking off starfish legs.
I know, I need to do a thorough cleaning of the skimmer. The problem is finding a good block of time to do it in.

By the way, the coral beauty got into a tussle with the clowns this morning, and the clowns kicked her butt.
