Than I will move it... Lol
I don't really have much to lose I guess. I got it for free.
I hope she stays put! It's in such a good spot.. But with RBTA it's just a matter of luck if they like the spot.
MEDREd check out this guys tank it has a huge anemone in it!!

Question?- I was working on my tank under the new light last night for about 20 min, and when I walked away into the kitchen I was feeling very loopy almost like a drank some beer or something... Is this from the radiation from the bulbs? I dont have a glass cover over the reflector yet..
You only need a glass shield for double ended bulbs. Mogul based bulbs have a built in shield.

It was weird tho... I felt all dizzy from the light..? Not sure why? Maybe just the bright lights shining in my eyes

Question guy and girls.
I have 4 fish right now. two clowns and a yashi goby and watchman goby.
My friend is taking down his tank and would give me his wrasse and royal grama.
Would that be fine in my tank? I know his royal gramma is very chill and the wrasse is not bad either.
What do you think?
mkregs
Aug 12 2009, 12:59 PM
What kind of wrasse? I'm a sucker for wrasses, but you have a pretty good mix of fish for a BC29 right now.
Ando
Aug 12 2009, 10:47 PM
It's a 6 line wrasse.
I just want more fish out and about.. The gobies always hide.
lakshwadeep
Aug 13 2009, 12:53 AM
Should be fine since the wrasse was added last, but you will want to check if it gets aggressive.

some of those are rainbows? Do you know the names of them? If you get to the point of fragging a rainbow (3-4 heads) I have an all pink/white acan that's pretty striking looking I'd love to trade you.
This isn't a great picture as it's too dark and it was in the process of eating. I'll take a better pic tomorrow when I update my tank.

p.s. what camera are you using?
Ando
Aug 18 2009, 01:27 AM
Thanks Red!
and Yep they are rainbows. try and get a better pic of your acan. Im using a Olympus Stylus Tough 8000. I take most of my shots under water.

I made a pretty good mod to my Koralia 1. I basically made it small. I will get some pics within the next few days here.
My corals really like the new 250 watt MH. I'm still light aclimating the corals and have not noticed any bleaching or alage growth.

Hey ando you got a great tank goin on here bro.i checked your tank out a while ago when you had t5s i think. The mh looks blazin.I got a quick question,do you have to run you ac in your house real cold to keep up with the heat off of that thing?or does the fan and open top take care of it?Also hows evaporation?Im trying to decide on t5s or just go with the metal halide for my 14 gallon biocube. Thanks alot Ando. Sick tank man def an insipration.
Ando
Nov 16 2009, 02:40 PM
Thanks a lot Sarasotacube!
The house is usually at 79 or 80, we dont keep it cold at all. The ceiling fan running and the small fan I have blowing across the surface of the water seems like it keep the tank at a good temp. Sometimes if we open all the windows and run no ac the tank might get up to 84, If that happens I just close the windows and run the ac... But I usually dont have a problem. As far as evaporation, I would get an RO/DI bc the evaporation is pretty big. Let me know if you have any more questions

Thanks man.you got it goin on in that cube. im trying to get a beter camera b4 i start taking pictures for a thread. You have helped aot just by ur posts.keep up the sweet shots.I notice you take most of your pics underwater.that is sick.seems like a nice camera.Thats good you dont have to waste all the extra power on a chiller with that narly light. KEEP UP THE GOOD WERK BRO!ill be postin ya ando.
Ando
Nov 16 2009, 07:41 PM
I was going to get a chiller and I thought I would have to when I first got the MH... BUt the tank seems good without one. Hopefully in a week or 2 I'll get some more updated underwater shots. The camera I was using crapped out so I had to send it back for repair.. Good thing for a 2 year warranty. lol

Nov 16 2009, 07:55 PM
Thats good news bro. The mh looks sick. The underwater shots were ill too.gota love customer service tho. Did you ever fix your current nova extreme?im on the edege about just going to mh or staying with t5s.i like that fixture tho. Thanks for the help.oo and how did u make ur koralia 1 smaller i got one of those mammoth things in my display?i wasnt sure if u posted that or not. Keep it easy.
Ando
Nov 16 2009, 08:42 PM
Current sent me 2 new bulbs but I have not been using the T5's since I have a MH above my tank. For the Koralia I basically took of the red piece that hold it onto the magnet and glued it onto the magnet.. It makes a little difference. Let me know If ur confused, but it's easy to do. I need my camera so I can take pics haha

Nov 18 2009, 07:37 PM
Thanks man.Thats good current took care of ya. That sounds like a really good idea with the koralia.i was thinkin drill a hole in the back of the tank in the filter area. and put the red thing in there with a gromet or something.but that mean i couldnt move it if needed.ur idea def cuts down well on the size.i hate that huge suction cup in the display.Hope the tanks growin like crazy, which im sure it is. catch ya later ando

I really like this brain.. Got it from a buddy of mine.

Purple Milli.. This SPS has been growing very well!

A shot of some of my sps and other coral

I've had these zoas for over a year now... Wow are they spreading.

Brain, Acans down on the sand bed

pull it by hand and restrict nutrient availability. what are your tank params?
Ando
Dec 31 2009, 11:40 AM
Most of the algae is too short to pick with my hand. As for tank parms they are all up to par and normal. I feed the tank once a day sometimes every other day.
