Why do you say it's time for a led retrofit?

Everybody's doing it...jk...

Cool, I have been bouncing that idea around too. Keep us posted on which one you choose. I was looking at one last week and the sales guy mentioned that once you installed it, it would keep making 15 gallons a day. He said there was no way to slow it down, you had to keep making it so you would need a place to store the extra. Have you heard of this? It didn't sound right to me at all.
Ando
I have never herd of that?

I'm just getting one like this
http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/RO/DI-Filter...oduct_info.html

I'm going to hook it up to my kitchen sink, make the water then when I'm done un hook it and put it away.
Rathje70
Take a look at the mighty mite if you are on a budget, it works great for me! I get 0 tds with the di filter!
Ando
Ya I was looking at that one but it so slooowwww...lol
lakshwadeep
I think they have larger versions at airwaterice.com.
Ando
I will take a look.

I want to take my parents fish tank! lol. They have a 125 Gallon! I would love to turn it into all reef! Maybe one day I can snag it from them...They may not notice haha

Ando
I just noticed these zoos today are going to be growing on the back wall very soon!

MedRed
very cool. love the color of those zoos
Ando
Thanks. I can't wait to see the Zoo's growing on the back wall. That pic was taken about a month and a half ago. So they have grown more.

I would like to glue some more zoo's on the back wall, Or some sps.
Ando

Ando

Any reason you want the mp10 over the mp20?
Kylebeano
did you burp your clam as you put it in? Sorry for bringing up an older subject.
MedRed
Your tank looks great! I'll echo TheStar, If the MP20 isn't too expensive... go for it. it's nice that you have the option to upgrade an mp20 to an mp40w at a later point if you so chose.
fishboy87
And . . .while you're at it, get a bigger tank!!! (on the note of upgrading everything else). But honestly, nice tank!
Ando
I found a mp10 never used for 170 shipped to my front door lol! Though it was a good deal that I couldn't pass.

kyle- Do you mean did I spin it around a 360 degrees to get air bubbles out? Yes I did that if that's what you mean.

Fish boy- Thanks. I was actually thinking of getting a rimless 30 gallon. But I'm not going to do it. I start school up soon and need some... money haha! It's tempting bc I LOVE the look of rimless. One day I will get one for sure! When I make some money I will get a big rimless.... Like 130 Gallon!

Yes. I hadnt done that with a clam I had a while back and it died in a couple days, though it showed signs of gaping as well.
Ando
I'm not really sure what the heck happened to mine. Looked good for a few days.. Then one day I came home from work and there was nothing left but the shell lol.
Ando
Here are some pics of the reflector and bulb I received today. I'm just waiting on the ballast. Can't wait to get this puppy over the tank!

Lumen Max Elite

250 Watt 20K radium

And I would say I LOVE it! Nice no more driving to the store anymore!

MedRed
Nice new fixture! you're going to need sunglasses. sleep.gif I'll be getting some new lighting soon.
Ando
I know I bet it's so bright. Can't wait until I get the ballast should be here in about a week!

What light did you end up getting?
lakshwadeep
Nice reflector! I think many MH people forget they can also increase their lights' efficiency like that of T5s.
Ando
Thanks! I'm pretty excited about the new lighting. I hope to get it up in a week or two. Just waiting on the ballast. I hope to see my corals color up better too.

and I hope I won't need a chiller!
Lawnman
What model is that? If you don't mind me asking what did that set you back with shipping?
Ando
It the lumen max elite. Got it used. But looks brand new.
and I got a 20k Radium bulb all for 160 shipped.

The reflector alone is usually 140 and bulb is 70

Guess I should of made myself more clear like my wife tells me LOL. I was asking about the price on the RODI system. I can't wait for a RODI.I am tired of the jugs to the LFS. How much RODI water does it make in 1 hour.I know it has to do with each houses water pressure.Do you hook it to the garden hose?

Brad
Ando
yep I hook to a garden hose I get prob only about three gallons an hour. But our pressure is not much.
Rathje70
waiting...... mellow.gif haha I got my new bulb! Check out my forum!
Ando
waiting.....The guy who ordered my ballast also has this frag for me to pick up!

tyree ponape birdsnest

Looks sickk!
MedRed
Wow that's beautiful!
Ando
Ya she is a beauty!
Ando
I have not updated in a while... Got tons to update pics coming later with the new light!

Check back tonight
Ando
Well, I finally got my 250 Watt 20K radium MH working! Wow is this thing bright!!

Question?- I was working on my tank under the new light last night for about 20 min, and when I walked away into the kitchen I was feeling very loopy almost like a drank some beer or something... Is this from the radiation from the bulbs? I dont have a glass cover over the reflector yet..

Here are some pics. It's hard to take pics bc the light is so blue.. and it's 18 inches above my tank right now and I will slowly move it down.

Kraylen
Dude you got too much cash! Tank looks great man!
Ando
haha! I wish I had too much cash! Thanks.

Most of the coral you see in there I just received from a good friend of mine. He wanted to take down his tank so he gave me most of his coral! Which consisted of 4 acans some rics and zoos, and that big elegance and brain coral.
MedRed
The Smurf Village is born! I thought those were moonlight pics and I was scrolling to see the new fixture pics... had to go back and read before I realized those are the new fixture pics... lol
Ando
haha! I can't get a good pic of the tank. It looks so blue in the pick but in real life it's perfect I think.

Also got a RBTA today... Not sure if I'm going to keep it or not.. I'm just holding it for my friend bc his tank went to crap... So I may buy it. not sure?

I figured as much. I really want a RBTA...They get too big for my tank :-( I have a LFS that has some beautiful specimens. If only the stupid things would stay small.
Ando
ya the one I got from my friend is about the size of a quarter. So i figure he will be good for a while. I also put the RBTA on a piece of rock that is about 4x4 that way if it does get big I can easily remove the rock. I will post pics of the RBTA tomorrow when the lights are on.

what if she hikes up her skirt and decides to move? that's my worry... the stinging along the way... and getting a foot out of some crucial piece of my rock work.
