^^^yep! It's just hard to see in the photo. I wanna try and get some zoos growing in it.. but there is not much light.
Ando
Here is my acid trip FTS! lol
Ando
I was thinking of upgrading my pump to a maxi jet 1100 which is 294 gph. I'm doing a lot of sps coral so do u guys think the maxi jet would be a good choice? I also have a korolia 1.
Gerber77
The zoas look tight in that pic above.
Ando
^^^ya the pink palys look green in the pic! I fraged them today and it went as smooth as a babys bottom haha
Gerber77
Thats great. How many polyps did you frag?
Ando
Only 3.. Just to test out my fragging ability LOL.
GiantBen
Nice tank Ando, I'm here for your Rio experience updates :-D
Ando
haha thanks giantBen! I will let u know.
GiantBen
How's your flow coverage with the K1 where it is? I have mine in about the same place and was thinking about moving it. I am not sure that the back right and front left are getting good coverage. Our scapes have similar footprint.
Ando
It's getting a decent amount of flow but I think I need more.. that's why I want to get a Y locline where the return water comes back into the tank... Then I can move it into two different spots.

Try the MP20, that will give you some really nice flow.
Kmon
read the entire thread tank looks nice! question are you doing any dosing to your tank or just weekly water changes
Ando
I dose my tank with B-ionic calcium and alkalinity. I also do a 5 gallon water change a week.

Thanks for checking it out.

-I just got a Rio 6 pump for more flow in my tank.. should be receiving it in a few days.

I have the RIO too and its great. Keep an eye on the small filter that is installed in the pump. It was clogging up pretty frequently and I eventually just removed it.
Ando
Thanks, That is what I have herd.. I will probably just take it out.
Ando

BigART
Looking great!
Ando
Thanks again.

Anyone dose magnesium?

I dose B-ionic calcium and alkalinity... and was also thinking dosing magnesium... I guess it's supposed to keep the calcium and alkalinity levels steady.

anyone?
Ando
Here are some pics of my DIY light stand. It's made out of solid aluminum. Check it out. It's not finished yet but it's almost there. What do you guys think?

-? I may paint it black im not sure yet..I kind of like the metal look of it.

BigART
Looks like it's turning out quite nicely.

Is that galvenized steel or aluminum?
Ando
It's solid aluminum.

What color do you guys think would look good?

I could polish it out so it looks shiny like a mirror, or just leave it like how it is which looks like a flat shine to it, or just paint it black.??

Also to hang the light I got 1/8 inch steel cable. Should look very nice!
BigART
Natural would look nice and save you on paint. Maybe a dark blue would look nice as well. Everyone does black, but I honestly probably would if it was me. What color is the stand, maybe match that?
Ando
The stand is black.. That what I was thinking to do just make it black.
Ando
Here is a pic of the finished product.

uwwmatt
Looking good Ando, now you just need to sit back and watch the coral grow out.
Ando
Thanks.

Sit back crack open an ice cold beer and enjoy! lol

The problem with this hobby, for me anyway, is that building stuff and problem solving is almost more rewarding then the end product. This of course means my tank is never finished!
Ando
Ya I feel like I'm always doing something to the tank. cost's too much money haha

When I first got the tank I was like I will eventually upgrade my lighting and pumps way down the road...It ended up being about two months and I had new lights.. then a new pump...new tank stand... never ends lol
Ando
I finally found my yashi goby that I got last monday finally saw him today skimming around for the first time... I though he had died..

I did also add two new fish. yellow watchman goby and a fairy wrasse.

BigART
Looks great, it turned out real nice and professional!
vincienzo45
looks good man!

Just curious tho, I have a BC29 with the same Nova Extreme Pro light..what made you want to hang your light? I just have mine sitting on the tank's top right now. Was it to provide more light coverage?
Ando
The plastic leg the hold up my light broke. So I decided to make something to hang it. I did have the light's just sit on my tank but it gets to hot.

Thanks for looking.
vincienzo45
Ahh..that sucks about the legs, but it still looks pretty good man

From one 20" Nova Pro owner to another - u have any idea if they're coming out with any new bulbs for the 20" ?

Ando
I though a month or two ago I read something around here about them coming out with some new bulbs... But who knows? I sure hope so!
Ando
