I started to setup my 15L with 10gal sump/fuge Caribbean biotope tank today. Im using alot of equipment that I had setting in my basement. Plans are to keep it simple and strictly stock with Caribbean Livestock only.
Equipment-
15L tank
10gal sump/fuge
4x24W T5HO
600gph overflow
OceanRunner 2500 return split to two u-tubes
75W heater
ATO
Skimmer?
5700K fuge light
Livestock-
20lb sand
25lb live rock from sealifeinc
Carib zoas
Rics
Carib mushrooms
Gorgs
Macro algae
Various snails
Peppermint shrimp
Emerald crab
Pair mated neon gobies
Pymgy Angel Fish

Started the plumbing today, sand added to main tank and fuge.Ordered the Rock from Sealife, it should be here next week.

I'm tagging along as well. I was thinking about doing something like this, except smaller scale. One question though, why'd you get rid of the flower nem wouldn't it have fit in with this biotope? I'm still kinda annoyed with myself that I missed your thread selling it. I didn't see it until the nem was sold.

Well when I sold it, I didnt think about setting this tank up.

Did a water test yesterday.
Temp 79
SG 1.025
pH 8.0
Ammonia-10ppm
Nitrite-0ppm
Nitrate-10ppm
KH-10
Diatom bloom also.
I was looking in the tank today and saw a cucmber butthole looking at me.

Nice. Where did you get the purple Gorg? If it's the type I think it is, they only can be found in one specific area.

I LOVE THE GORGS!!!!! I PLAN ON BUYING SOME FROM SEA LIFE INC AS WELL. DID YOU GET THE NANO SIZED ONES? IS THAT THE ORANGE SEA ROD IN THE CENTER?

Sorry for the ignorance but if the siphon ever breaks on your overflow u-tube, what keeps the tank from overflowing caused by the sump pump continuing to pump water until it has no more?

Spanko good question. I havent had a problem yet. The overflow picks right back up after a power loss. I know the cpr and the other brand use an aqua lifter pump to keep the siphon going. I also take them apart once and awhile to clean them and make sure they dont lose the siphon.

Tks, cept algae all over the place. i added somemore rics and i need to get a mithrax crab to help mow it down. I have also been trying to find any caribbean lps or sps which is damn near impossible as you cant collect it.

torn down two tanks and now have an aquapod in its place. Going from having 5 tanks down to three. I have the 40br, 24gal aquapod and a 10gal in the basement.

It sure was neat! In the process of downsizing myself...I managed to stuff an 20L into an BC8...we've gone from 7 tanks to 3 in the last month! o.O

Seems to be a lot of that going around. I took down Ghetto Beauty and moved my jetties nano to a bigger tank. Just.....too....many.....tanks!
