Mostly a mix of ATI blue plus and aquablue special. I have one fiji purple, 2 UVL super actinic and one GE6500 thrown in as well.

Good to know. I have Blue+, Aquablue, and Pro Color. I only have a 6 bulb. Some seem to really like the Figi and some the Pro color. I just went with the cheaper one By an entire $7.

The fiji purple and the procolor is a completely different bulb. The fiji purple is a mix of daylight and actinic, whereas the procolor is an all day light bulb.

Wow, inspiring as always. So inspiring I've finally bitten the bullet and placed my order for an upgrade. Can't go as big as you but I'm inching up to a 65g shallow rimless (36" x 24" x 17"). I'm even thinking of going T5 and was thinking along the lines of the Tek fixtures you use. Any recommendation in terms of the # of bulbs. I'm guessing the 6 bulb version, would that be enough? I figure it would as its a shallow tank. Wish me luck. BTW, my frags look outstanding.

The new tank is unfortunately dry. I might have to move to Atlanta for work and so its sitting in one of my spare bedrooms awaiting a decision. A bit depressing as I have everything ready to be plumbed and setup except for the light. I was going to go with the 8x39w Tek but they stopped making them. Now I'm looking at either the 6 or 8 light ATI Power Module. If I go the 6 light route, I might try the new ATI Sunpower. Those ATI fixtures ain't cheap !!!!

For the moment, I'm stuck enjoying my 39g.

George, that sucks about the tank. When do you find out about the move. The efflo never recovered well from the alk issue I had. It slowly went downhill.

Ian, you tank is looking spectacular, and I see a lot has moved in since I saw it a couple months ago. Ha Ha, your coral growth is gonna force you to buy a house and get that new AGE.

For those of you that think his pictures are great, they are, but do not even compare to when you are there in person, so keep drooling....and just imagine those corals and fish being even more spectacular in person. And thats not including the frag tank thats right next to the display...drool factor is 10.0

Thanks Craig, I did add quite a bit. I tried to add a black tang a couple days ago, however my achillies and purple tang went to town on him. The black tang is now happily residing in my frag tank. There's no one to pick on him there.



LOL, thanks. I'm happy with the progress of the tank. Hopefully I can set up a bigger one soon.

I need to make up my mind soon but it's pretty much a done deal that I'll go. The money they pay me is too good not to and NY is getting pretty expensive. The Atlanta Reef Club is pretty nice from what I hear so perhaps I'll find more people there that are into our hobby. I've been chatting with a few of them to see if folks will hold some of my pieces, including some that I got from you, so I have something waiting for me when I get there. Everyone has been pretty cool so far so I have high hopes. If I get it over with I can setup the new tank down there and stop staring at it empty.

All of my frags are doing well but the Eddies PM, what a PAIN to color up. Is it that picky for you too? Its become my tank canary coral. If something shifts in the tank, the PM is the first one to let me know its PO'ed.

George for me the Eddie's PM is rock solid. I did have one incident early on when I bleached it white. But that was when it was still just a frag. Sounds like a good plan about the move. I remember you saying something about that before. What browns out the eddies PM for you?

Not browning but bleaching/pale for me. Honestly, I'm not sure what's making it uphappy though of course its harder to keep parms stable in my tank size vs. yours.

Yes I do have 3 mp40s running along with a maxijet mod, koralia 3, and a tunze nano wave box.
