I had a CAD before I had to break it down and sell it after the Virginia Tech shooting-- it was great. My only complaint was that the false back wall came un-siliconed from the glass within a week
Oh and what are the dimensions of the 9gal tank only? they arent on the site that i see?
CADlightsNY
Aug 12 2008, 12:22 PM
Thank you Kmitch, the dimensions are 14 3/4" length x 11" width x 13" height. but the full package is no longer available since manufacturing the 9G full nano package and 12G full nano packages was almost the same price. we only have the 9G as "tank only" DIYs available.
lerios 80: our showroom is located in Brooklyn and our manufacturing/warehouse is in east NY.

CAD, I know many people I've talked to have wondered (both CAD owners and non CAD owners) but are there ever any plans to sell components seperately without having to purchase a tank, things such as the skimmer, or other accessory type items. If that isn't in the plans, I feel it should be as it would most certainly bring CAD more customers.

I'm looking forward to one of your tank's.

Hi, Windcloud: i checked and all the custom quotes were replied to already so i think yours should have a reply by now. if you didnt yet, please let me know. Eddie@cadlights.com
Hi, Phixion (thanks for the welcome): yes actually we will be selling all the components separately once the 39G Signatures and Professional models are released. items such as mini 9W refugium light, Pin-wheel skimmer, UV, cooling fan, Auto Top-Off, Oscillator, 24" HO strip etc.

I love cad's tanks, wish I would have know about you guys before I bought my aquapod that I'm highly desapointed with. I may have to look into a cad for my next tank since I'm ready to upgrade but I'm stuck with the aquapod for a while since my parents don't wan't me to have a bigger tank and I can't really afford one.
Also, what is the difference between the 22g with full sized fuge and the one without? The both seem to have a space for a refugeium.

COOL! WELCOME CAD. just wanted to congratulate you guys on making such an awesome tank set-up. i get so much compliments from people that come into my house whether they are reef keepers or not.
i ordered the ATO to put in my pump chamber too.
keep up the good work guys!

Thank you Bear-hugs and Nicks reef for the compliments. the upcoming 39G Signature and Professional Series are the same design and built with strict quality standards just like the last batch.
we included in it a free ATO, the one that your ordered (bear-hugs) into the package also. it is the previous sale price for all the Pre-orders. after the Pre-order date of August 30th, the price will be back to the MSRP.

How come the bottmom is blacked out? You happen to have one showing the empty back?
trying to sketch some ideas.
Thanks again guys.
Is it true that starphire type glass is more prone to being scratched and cracking? As it is not as strong?

Hi, Windcloud
the black vinyl adhesive is to block out the UV light from the sterilizer and inside of it is the isolated Refugium and UV chamber. if the vinyl is removed you can also see the 2 baffles e built into it.
WindCloudWRX
Aug 13 2008, 02:14 PM
I'm interested in knowing of any suggestions on creating more baffles after the skimmer output to reduce micro bubbles.
I'll have the sketch ready and I"m open to ideas.
CADlightsNY
Aug 19 2008, 03:08 PM
The baffles in the 39G Signatures should be fine for normal uses. if you still see micro-bubbles you can add a pad to remove them.
the sketch is good enough, if you need help still let me know.

Are you guys going to be selling the new 39g tanks by themselves?
CADlightsNY
Aug 21 2008, 02:33 PM
Hi, Lerios
The 39G Signature and Pro packages are all pre-packed with all the equipment, so we don't sell them
separately as "tank only" packages.

Hi, Wind
i looked at the link that you sent me and it will look like that one, but of course in the size we spoke about. it will be a completely frame-less design like the picture.

A bit off topic-
But the manufacturing process for starfire glass creates an end result that is not noticeably different in properties than standard glass. It just has a lower iron content for better clarity and more accurate color representation.

i just got my tank yesterday and am planning to set it up with my friend tonight. everyone i showed to loves the tank and cabinet.
one quick question though, is the Loc line 1/2"? i was looking to mod the nozzle a little with a Y.
Just wanted to say thanks for a great product and helping me with the questions! keep up the good work

My 22 CADlight shipped Thursday and is in Michigan (damned DHL and no deliveries on Saturday!) -- I'll have to wait until Tuesday to get it set up at work!

What if someone were to break the display tank that comes with the 39 gallon package. Surely there must be some way to order just a replacement tank. It is a nice package but I already have a skimmer, lighting and a refugium sitting around. I really like the look of the tank but have no need for the items that come with it.
