what does the heatshield do for the BC 14? i am assuming it lowers temp. how does it do this, and how well does it work?

The heatshield allows you to mount a third 24w bulb in the rear if you choose and the new plate is also shorter than the stock piece on the left and right sides to allow for unobstructed airflow for your fans.
