Actually, we tried to organize a Freshwater show in August but just couldn't get enough support to make it happen. We may do more MAX shows, though, in other parts of the country soon

i just found out about this today. i cant wait to go this weekend... thats something to look forward to YAY

Which one is better. Reef-a-palooza or this Max thing?

We are actually the same people who organized and orchestrated Reef-A-Palooza last year so you are getting the best of both worlds. We are not involved with RAP '08 however the current organizers appear to be doing an ok job copying the same format we created the year before. MAX is larger in every respect but is an apples and oranges argument when you say "better". We created MAX to represent the entire United States for the marine aquarium industry, not simply a club. As such, you will see manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers showcasing the latest and greatest innovative products from around the world, in addition to thousands of frags and livestock. RAP on the other hand is merely a large frag swap, so if that is all you care to see then it may be worth the trip. You can't go wrong by seeing both but MAX should definitely be your first choice.

As a matter of fact, we are looking for a second location for another MAX
The Bay area is among one our top ten considerations for choosing a new location, however we'd really like to be represented on the East coast too. We'd hate to canibalize the two shows by having them so close together (Northern and Southern California). That's the only down side to a Bay area MAX. Everything is up in the air at the moment until we find where the most demand is for a new location.

Please be informed that all booth sales for Marine Aquarium Expo will cease at 11:59pm Sunday, March 15, 2009. We will accept new booking up until that date and time, however as of March 16 we will lock the floorplan and consolodate any unsold booths into other uses.

IMPORTANT:
Please be aware that there will be significant security measures upgraded this year.
1) "piggy backing" (sharing a booth space) will NOT be tolerated without officially registering with show management and paying applicable fees. If you want to sell at the Marine Aquarium Expo you must book your own booth.

2) No one will be allowed access to the building prior to the show without a valid exhibitor's badge. "Helpers" and "Volunteers" will not gain access to the building without a badge from a legitimate exhibitor; if you are not on the list, you will have to wait outside in line with all other attendees.

3) MAX is a very family-oriented event. For the safety and serentity of our attendees, anyone displaying rude, obnoxious, and/or intoxicated behavior will be either warned or asked to leave the building entirely. Management reserves all rights and authority (and delegation of such authority to all staff members) to control the event as needed.

Ohhhh I might have to fly down and go to this. I'm not doing anything. And a flight from here to Vegas is only $29. Now I gotta figure out how to get from Vegas there lol.

Nevermind. Can't find transportation from Vegas to Costa Mesa. Unless anyone is going from Vegas to Costa Mesa for MAX and then be back in Vegas by Monday afternoon. If so can I hitch a ride? lol
