haha just got back from a full day of offshore mahi fishing, taking a little break to cool off

did you catch anything? i don't go fishing much because all my sisters and mom get seasick.

sebea's girlfriend caught a 55+ lbs bull which was ridiculous. The rest of caught your average couple pound schooling mahi's but we came home with about 40 lbs of mahi fillet not including the bull so we will have dinner for a while haha

when you change your mind on this system, I call dibs on the skimmer. REMEMBER I CALLED DIBS

So no updates for now, were mysteriously loosing fish, no clue why. No detectable levels of anything and all the coral frags are thriving. Lost the male rhomboid over vacation, havent seen the male flame in days, and found one of the clowns on the sand dead this morning. All appeared healthy and ate frozen foods/grazed on pods. Meh.

We think everything has stabilized now and the tank is really starting to come along. Starting to add some coral soon and will post updates. Until then, nog shot.

I think we are going to add a little more rock to the left side, its going to take way to long to grow out frags to the point where we are happy with the aquascaping. The fish could also use some more rocks to play around in.

So the tank has changed a bit, heres a quickie full tank shot, will post more in a few days when i'm back home. My brother has done most of the work on the tank but I take the pictures so credit goes to him.

Looks great. I love your fish selections. Great shot as always.

Put in a new sump today and redid all of the plumbing. This setup is much cleaner, much quieter, fits the BK with more room, and gives us more space on the right side of the stand. Going to put in the Ca reactor tomorrow hopefully if we can get some CO2 (all of the places we called didnt have any right now). Were running the BK really wet right now also, getting it dialed back in.

lol, somehow all of the writing on the piping decided to be not visible from the angle, and the black is just extra we had in the garage.

It's been a while, not a whole lot has changed except for a few losses and additions here and there. The T5s are great but honostly the 10 bulb is hugely over kill, we lowered the photoperiod and most of the sps except for the stags still look bleached. I think the 8 or even the 6 bulb would have been plenty. Anyways some quick pics, I'll be taking more now that im home for summer.

D300 with the 18-200 VR DX lens. Pretty slow lens but it works until I can get the 105 VR macro one of these days

Looks like the slow lens is doing a great job for you, lol. Those shots are so crisp.

<3 raw. I have to shoot a little underexposed to get the shutter speed up and then lighten it up in post. I'd love to be able to get it right in the camera though.

Nice growth! What's the red thing at the bottom left of the FTS?

For the lights, how many bulbs (or bulb groups) can you turn on/off separately? That could allow you to stagger different photoperiods with timers.

Its a big flower pot, pretty awesome coloration. At this point we have all the lights on for about 6 hours with 3 groups total. The groups turn on and off progressively over a total of about 8 hours i think.

The tank looks good. Nice to see a tank running smoothly.
