Morphologic

Here is a nice shot of a large group of Discosoma sanctithomae that we have in our systems. There is a large amount of morphological variation in this species. We just updated Coral Morphologic with 8 rare WYSIWYG sanctithomae polyps of all colors and morphs. Check 'em out...

For whatever reason, I can't post pics hosted from our shopping cart. So click on the description to check them out on the site....

Fluorescent Red

Light Fluorescent Lime Green

Perfectly spherical vesicles (formally known as a separate species Orina torpida)

Doesn't this one remind you of one of those "Sno Ball" snack cakes you used to get in your lunch as a kid?

First "butter yellow" morph I've ever come across...really unique.

Colin

Very nice!

Are they mushrooms?

I love that picture. I have a hard time finding these, any idea if you will get any more St Thomas Mushrooms in again?

Indeed, we have some in store but have had them temporarily on the back-burner as we've been quite busy reorganizing things. I can't quite say exactly when this may be as I do not know myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened pretty soon smile.gif .

We still have similar morphs, too, so though that picture's old it's not too far off. Thanks for the interest, and it's nice to see people wandering our past posts biggrin.gif .

Cheers,
Graham

Greetings!
I just registered here to see if you can help me identify something we saw while diving in the Caribbean last week. I am a scuba instructor and have been diving all over the world, but have never encountered this creature before. Sure, i've seen hundreds of corallimorphs before, but never fluorescent orange. I photographed this corallimprph with and without lights to bring back the natural colors, since this was almost 70 feet underwater. Are you familiar with fluorescents and how they work? Is this why there are so many different colors of corallimorphs? These must be happy in their location, as we saw three different groupings with several new ones popping up close by.

Thank you for your input!

supernip
did you bring any of those back?
