I think it should be, they tend to have the lowest prices.

How about a $15 entry fee, if we get more people it can be lower, but I am down either way.

The light fixture alone is $135 new (It is a used one I've had for over a year).

Need to do some math to figure out if I can enter or not.

I'm pretty sure we are valuing used equipment at 75% of new value. So your light would be roughly $100 off your budget

+1 on the light cost. That takes a big chunk out of the budget! I'm OK with him using his tank.

Used stuff at 75% would probably keep me under budget. The tank will have a ~4g sit on back custom fuge. (sitting behind the tank on the stand I made for it)

I think fuges and sumps are fine under the following guidelines:
If they are built using scraps that are under $15, they're a freebie that doesn't need to be deducted from the budget.
If you use stuff like Aquaclears or attached tanks (like a 2.5g or whatever), then the cost for those items must be deducted from the budget.

Hey kmitch, whaddya think about helping me run this thing since you're the one that got the ball rolling in the first place?
How would the rest of you feel about kmitch and I running it?
We wouldn't judge the entries, just keep everything in line and running relatively smoothly.
I think we should let NR as a whole judge the tanks at the end, just start a thread that shows all of the entries and have a poll where everyone can judge.

I was standing on my deck enjoying the evening sounds & the view of the pond when I heard something whiz past loud & fast. I sat down at the table to relax a bit & watched a little one come for a drink. One of the bully larger humming birds came & chased it across the deck & over the pond chirping at each other. (Never heard them chirp before). A couple of minutes the bully or one of his buddies just missed my face as he flew back across the deck. I decided to retire to my office & relaxe in the Lounge!

I just suggested a rule change to weetie-- basically you have to submit your tank with something in it (It can be a teddy bear) as your entrance photo and your game plan by the 17th rather than have something running by that point. That way people like me who need to order supplies have a chance to get that done, besides I have a tank to mod....

On a totally different note, it's been about a day since I put the MJ1200 on my Nano-Remora skimmer.
It's definitely skimming more, but it's skimming very wet.
