Hermits and sexies get along just fine, ime. I've even noticed a few instances of sexies stealing food from crabs.

How about Black Cap Basselets (sp)? I just brought my daughter's home. He is a PIG! I am headed out to get my Sexies!

I haven't heard of basslets giving sexies trouble, but I really don't know.

I think the Meteor Shower Cyphastrea and the War Coral are my favorites.

This one is cool in the sense that the peachy-orange color on it almost sparkles.

Sexies are good as far as I can tell.
They are all in different places in the 5.5g.
One of them landed on the big Hairy Green Mushroom when it first floated out of the bag and the Mushy tried to eat it, but I rescued it.
I hope we don't have a repeat of that!
I took some pics and I think I got some decent ones, but haven't had time to upload them yet.

New ride! We've got an'08 focus, love it. I also had an '86 Blazer for quite some time and loved that thing too.

New frags! All of which look extremely sweet.

New scrimp! Our sexy trio are a ball to watch, hope yours are just as entertaining!

Hmm, you sure the mushroom tried to eat it? Ime, corals that are not used to being walked on by sexies will react quickly at first by closing up.. but later on, they will get used to it.
Can't wait for the pics.

Well, that particular mushroom eats by closing up and engulfing it's prey, which is exactly what it looked like it was doing.
It moves pretty fast for a coral too, almost like an anemone but not quite as fast.
I'm keeping an eye on it.
I suspect it will be tomorrow before I get the Sexy pics up, it's been a VERY full day and I'm pretty tired.
Getting ready to have a cup of coffee now, mebbe that'll help.

In other news, Susan helped enormously today by finding another setting on our cameras (we have the same camera) that takes MUCH better pics, esp. under my new T5HO lights.
The pics I posted earlier were actually taken by her on those settings.
It's on "Manual" and with an ISO of 400, macro of course, and on another special setting for aquariums.
The difference is amazing.
I took a bunch more pics of stuff in this aquarium, as well as the Sexies, and hopefully I'll be able to get some of those up tomorrow.

ooh, what kinda camera do you have? my mom is letting me use here canon rebel for my project. the problem is i have no clue how to use it.

Well, these frags were part of a "Free Frag Friday" giveaway by Er1c_the_reefer with the condition that any future frags from them had to be given away, not sold.
So who knows, mebbe someday you'll get a 2nd gen version of them!



That particular look is very temporary.
I will eventually have a real aquascape and the corals will all be a part of it, like in a normal tank.
No more eggcrate!

This is the actually the first time experiementing with the Manual setting, and I know I've only scratched the surface of what this camera can do.

I have it on Manual with an ISO of 400.

Hmmm, you could slow the shutter speed or use a wider f-stop (f2.8) but your pics wouldn't be as sharp... What did you have the speed and f-stop set to on manual?
