Well, I've got the bulb down so far. Still working out the rest of the retro fit. Just some of the less important things, like a ballast. I actually might wind up going with PC pending some things, if so I'll be passing the bulb along to some one who can use it. How's the wrong forum ban campaign going? Bustin' some heads?

Weetie,

Kind of brownish. You will see them on the walls of your tank after lights out more than in the daytime. If you have them, do a search of ways to get rid of them. A Corris or Six Line Wrasse will eat them. I got mine in a shipment from someone a long time ago. They were gone for a long time after my Six Line went carpet surfing when I left the glass top off one night. Now they are back big time in my 10g display tank. Time to go fish shopping!

So I woke up this morning to find half of the bulbs working in my TEK light. I was surprised to find that one of my ATI blue+ bulbs had burnt out already. Luckily I had an extra bulb laying around. So guess Ill be ordering a new bulb and some new test kits soon as I need them.

The ones I've seen personally are kind of a translucent tan color.
I have some that are totally translucent on this one Monti I have, but they are not the bad kind and they stay only on that coral and don't bother it.

That's weird.
That's an older fixture not a new one, right?
How long do ballasts last on T5HO fixtures, and how do you know when they need replacing?

Did the dip work? If you don't have any in yet & are up my way, I could give you some Sea Chem Reef Dip or Lugols.

Sorry to hear about the cyano, have you tried doing the 3 day lights out thing?
When you order tomorrow, make sure you order a TDS meter too, I'm pretty sure they have a handheld one for $25.
Since I had that gift certificate to them from the Swap, I splurged and got the $50 TDS meter that also checks temp, and I really like it.
