Your frogspawn looks awesome in my tank, I almost like the color on it better than the one I got at the swap.

It's the only "full size" coral I have in the tank other than my Brain, everything else is frags.
I realize it's not some high end fancy shmancy coral or anything, but I've really been wanting a nice Frogspawn for a while and now I have TWO!
In the car on the way to the Swap, I told Volupte79/Olivia that the one thing I really wanted to find was a nice, good-sized Frogspawn, but no one ever sold those at Swaps.
Boy did I get lucky!
Both of the Frogspawns look nicer than the pics, I need to work with the camera to find out what setting to use under T5HO lighting cause the new light is really throwing the camera (or mebbe it's operator ) off.

Now aren't you glad you listened to the devil in your ear and bought the Red M. Spongodes? My blue cloves are barely open, do they like high or low light / flow? I was so tired when I got home I put my maroon clown in the QT tank with a neon dottyback, figured I would separate them Sunday morning. Woke up to a terrified clown with torn fins!!!! GGGRRR!!! Have them in different tanks now. Clown seems happy and hopefully will heal up.

In our Clubs meeting on photography they said to focus on your sand or put something white in the tank. Then adjust the white balance on the camera to that. Then everything else will be true color. Not having a camera fancy enough to have a white balance setting I have never tried it though.

On the Blue Cloves, I have mine about 14-15" underneath 4x24w T5HO and in Med.-High flow, and they seem pretty happy.

Having some minor troubles in the tank today.
A Pokerstar Monti frag developed a bleached white spot in the middle overnight. It almost looks like it got stung by something, but I'm not sure what.
My larger pc. of Blue Polyp Purple Monti Cap is looking peeved too.
Also noticed the day after I put it in the tank that the Green Frogspawn I purchased at the swap has one mouth gaping. It has 4 large heads on it. 2 of them are doing great and inflating really well, just looking really healthy. One of the heads had a small sliver of skeleton that was coming off on one side.
The head that is closest to it is the one with the gaping mouth.
I'm gonna do some lugol's dips tonight, along with a smallish WC.
Everything else is looking really good.

I think I might lose my Pokerstar Monti.
Did a 1g WC tonight, moved a bunch of stuff around, and dipped it in lugol's along with some other stuff.
Noticed after I had everything back where it belonged that the Pokerstar looked like it had "detritus dust" on it, so I blew it off with a baster.
It wasn't detritus, it was Pokerstar flesh "shedding".
I'll see how it looks in the morning, if it's worse I might just toss it. I don't want to take the chance of it infecting other stuff.
The only thing I can think of is that it had a bad reaction to my adding all the new stuff.
As long as the new stuff continues to look okay I think I can live with losing the Pokerstar.

I am SO annoyed!!
Somewhat on a whim I checked the Mg level in my tank and it was 1125!
I can't believe it's this low, esp. since I'm using a salt that is supposed to have elevated Mg levels!
Once I get over my shock I'll try to test the fresh SW I have mixed and see what it is there.
Maybe the low Mg has something to do with my Monti problems...

So I did some more tests and got the following results:
Mg-- 1125
Ca-- 380
Alk-- somewhere between 1.5-2.0

Grrrr.
Added stuff to raise Mg and Alk, will check again in A.M.

Ugh....sowwy about the troubles Weets.
Mebe we should follow the Mayor and start keeping snakes?

Ph-- Didn't even register this morning, 8.2 just b4 lights out tonight
Mg-- 1225
Ca-- didn't test, assumed it was still @ the reading of 380 from last night.

Several corals that had previously looked just mildly "off" looked better today.
The Pokerstar Monti and Blue Polyp Purple Cap looked about the same as yest, no better, no worse. Will try a dip in Tech-D for them tonight.
My Duncan is ticked off, wouldn't even come out most of the day and is sliming a lil bit. It's been a bit peeved for the last week or so.

Well, they're actually a lot better now than they have been for the last year.
Yeah, I'm having a few bumps in the road now, but I don't really feel discouraged.
I'm prolly still riding the high from the new upgrade to the 20L and the ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FANTASTICAL Frag Swap I just went to last weekend.
At any rate, if I lose the 2 Monti's, I lose them.
I'm just gonna keep moving forward and do everything I can to make this tank an awesome system.
All of the new stuff is doing fine and I'm excited to see what I can turn this tank into.
One of the new Frogspawns is the only thing I was having any kind of issue with. One of it's several mouths was gaping from the time I put it into the tank. It was in a different position today so it was harder to see, but I think there may have been some improvement in that mouth.

just when i start bragging about my really stable system.. now im dealing with red slime algae popping up.
i stopped running my crappy stock skimmer a while back that MUST be the culprit.. all my params are right on but the red slime seems to be showing up everywhere.. guess its time to get the tunze 9002 i was threatening.

crossing my fingers for your system.. those new corals will come around.. how can they not?
