That's a beauty Kim!

They have frags on what looks like pvc elbows on the back there.....cool idea.
Wonder how they are attached...Magnets?
SPerry
A few pics in no particular order.

Lalani
Great pics, S! smile.gif

Richie, I'm not sure how those frags are attached on the back. I'll try to find out for ya!
varanus37
That is a pretty slick way to keep frags up. Could you imagine putting an encrusting monti in something like that and then a few years later? The back of my 55 with a sunset monti the size of a dinner plate....SICK!

How the hell would I ever get it off? huh.gif . Just have to keep the never-ending 55 running forever.

lol...so did I on my first try smile.gif

I have to say, I think tubing may be just as fun as skiing, especially since they have a lift for the tubing hill too.

Given much poking and prodding from my mother, along with "encouragement" from Amber and Lani, I am apparently putting some photos into a juried exhibition in my dinky hometown...

So part of that means that I need to choose something to have printed, and I've narrowed it to some that I wouldn't mind hanging up somewhere in the house (in case no one buys it at the exhibition). And thus, by Lani's suggestion...I leave it up to the WL group to help me choose which to print. If there's some other pic you're partial too, please suggest smile.gif

12 photos, all proportioned for a 16x20. (Thumbnails are clickable for larger sizes)
If you want a slideshow version instead: http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t109/ar...mview=slideshow
Or the typical Photobucket view: http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t109/arwndsh/exhibition/

THANKS WL cool.gif

Wait - are these the ones for canvas? Bromeliad, imo. But for an exhibition, they'd look better on glossy, mounted, matted and framed. wink.gif

I thought about it for a couple of them, maybe the tidepool or the sunsets...you think no?

Thanks for the opinion Jeremai smile.gif

Eh, just one or two for this one.
Lalani
Even though I am partial to the Yellow Tidepool, I have to agree with Jer on the Bromeliad shot as first choice. smile.gif
lakshwadeep
I'm with the others for the bromeliad. It looks like a small purple flower in a field of grass.

Some of the other photos are the kind that other people would instantly recognize as interesting, but I always like subjects that often go unnoticed.

I really like the shore washing away... I think its a close thirds but the bromeliad definitely takes the cookie. Great Shots Man!!

So after white mat/flat black frame it would look somethin like:

Opinions??
Lalani
Nice cool.gif
But the white mat needs to be a tad bit wider, imo.

so that was 16x20 photo, plus 2" mat all the way around, for a 20x24 frame

you think 4" mat and 24x28 frame?

edit: and I finally understand why photographers ask what they do for photos!!

Lol, actually I would rather the mat be cut to 3" on the top and sides, and 4" on the bottom. wink.gif

For Richie and the other guys wondering about those pvc frag mags, response from the owner of that tank:
"Yes, magnets from KJMAGNETICS.COM.

Rubber or Plastic coated, superglued to CPVC 1/2" elbows. These are the proper size for must frag plugs, so that they don't move around too much before the frags encrust."

clownfish1124
I would double mat it. Maybe white on the inside and then a lilac or light green on top. But hey, what ever you like better. if you do double mat it, make sure the color matches the color you want to be highlighted with the mat. So IMO, the lilac would be better.

I'm worried that that would make the framing look too busy for the composition of the image and end up competing with it. Nothings final on mat/frame yet though - gotta get the print and find a good framer first smile.gif

With Lani's PITA suggestion tongue.gif

Wider mat I like...

I'm still conflicted on the weighted bottom. I like it, but then it makes me feel a little tense at the same time. unsure.gif

Years ago I worked at a professional framing shop, and they always recommended weighting the bottom of the mat, much as Lani suggested.

I should take some pictures of our framed works at home. My mom is great at this stuff. In one she though it would be cool to make two pictures out of one using a window? mat. The top has land critters and the bottom orcas and coral (yes, the artist should have researched first)

I thought about doing a triptych from one of my sunset pans from Hawaii, but the idea of shipping a nearly 60" long frame back and forth from Kentucky doesn't sound appealing smile.gif
