I honestly don't understand why there is a lounge. It's a way for people :cough: splinterhands :cough: to trash the site.

Strange Dream Last Night


I dreamed that I noticed the MH light on my 20gal was out. When I looked it had over heated. The heat from the light had warped the glass of the tank so that it closed like the top of a sandwich bag but had not caused the tank to leak. All my corals and fish were fine but they were stuck since the top was closed. I was freaking out trying to figure out how to get everything out without breaking the tank. I woke up before I got them out.

On the Lounge thing, I was just thinking about it after the recent thread on Old Lounge vs. New Lounge.
Here's my take on it.
The Current Lounge reminds me of a Monkey Exhibit at a zoo, with a bunch of monkeys throwing poop at each other and howling uproariously when a missile hits its mark.
Supposedly it's all in fun, but it seems as if people go there to vent all of the frustration and mean spiritedness they've been forced to hold in all day IRL.
Every once in a while I see a thread that draws my interest and it starts out good, but inevitably I slip on a well-placed turd.

imo, you need a lounge just so there's a (specific) place for splinterheads/etc. to talk trash and such. better in the place you know it's supposed to be at, than all over the place.

you draw the firefight into a targeted zone and let them fight it out. btw, it also allows you to concentrate your firepower there (in a concentrated spot) and simply kill them off at your leisure with your superior fire/modpower (shooting trolls/morans in a barrel).

if you don't give them a 'target'/playground/fire-zone, then it's gonna be alllll over the place.

reminds me of a story i read where they painted on a fly/bug inside a urinal. they found guys tried to hit it by aiming their pee streams and were thus less 'messy' at the urinal. same concept.

Frag tank is looking good. I replaced the 2 actinic bulbs with 15Ks and even have some SPS growing. I have a nice frag of the purple digi for you in there also,

On the lounge thing......

I really don't spend much time there cuz its pretty much as Weetie described. There were a few threads I followed, mostly picture related , post a pic of yourself, tinypic, etc. Other than that I stay out.

I agree with Tiny tho.
It does have its place, and there it is...

Let 'em sling poo there and at least we will know where it is. Keeps them confined and the clean-up efforts a bit easier I would think. JMO.

This is the non poo-slinging lounge.
Official membership requires a vote and an initiation, to be chosen by current members. If you make it through initiation, you get a cool lounge chair of your very own though.
And speaking of initiation and stuff, I have a bone to pick with you Tiny.
It would appear you have been somewhat derelict in your duties sir, since I am still sporting a certain extraneous limb.
It's quite embarrassing really. I mean I'm a Mod and I have over 6,000 posts for heaven's sake.
I've been taping it down and otherwise trying to disguise it, but it's quite uncomfortable and once in a while someone notices and points it out.
I would quite appreciate assistance with this delicate situation.

Thats my distillation unit at work On the unseen side, theres a typical (but probably 3x normal size) RODI unit, then the cool part, which is the 4 crazy big heating elements to steam the water.
