I actually have 2 FB profiles. ninja.gif
fewskillz
I don't know if I could handle all of that!
DHaut
That's because you assume I have hundreds of friends and am getting requests and needing to check things all the time. Nothing could be further from the truth.
bitts
I think we should have a contest, to see who can come up with the best name for their profiles.

remember you don't even have to friend any one. You can just post to the group. then leave it at that.

I'm nominating Mallory Creek Aquarium.

but yeah it is still a choice & its understandable to call it a no go.
fewskillz
I assume nothing. I know that I will wind up with hundreds of friends. I made a wedding guest list not too long ago, and most of the people on that list are on FB...
DHaut
lol, that's why you make a fake name just for WL! it's all about just doing WL and nothing else.
fewskillz
Maybe tomorrow. Time to go, gotta let the dogs out before we drive 3 hours to a Board Meeting. It's gonna be a looong night.

Uh, you mean like your awesome WL friends made for you, right???

On a completely different note......
Just found out my middle sister, her husband and their 8yo son may be homeless soon.
Hubby got laid off a while back and hasn't been able to find work, and Sis is unable to work because of her severe Rhuematoid Arthritis.
Her husband might come to live with us, and Sis & Son might go live with my parents.
And this isn't even all the good news I got today.

**Sigh**

QUOTE (bitts @ Jan 19 2011, 09:59 AM) *
Hey since the hold outs are here & its probably the only way they'll see it. reposting from the real wl.

Ok serious ? time.
I want to limit the number of tanks, I'm dealing with for the next couple years. Until after school basically. I have the 29 & the 75. Figure that their both about the same amount of work. Since I'm a strange combo of lazy & obsessive. I've been thinking way more than doing. Thus my questions are, between the two I should Set up the 75 or keep the 29. Then which overflow if I do the 75, exo or internal like D's.

QUOTE (bitts @ Jan 19 2011, 10:10 AM) *
Okay, Why go with the internal. Need reasons.

Your Bitts- You know this stuff! omgomgomg.gif

QUOTE (spanko @ Jan 19 2011, 10:10 AM) *
Keep both. 29 as the display and the 75 as cryptic display refugium\sump.

+1 except other way around. Or do the 29 for just a refugium and get a little 10 gallon for the skimmer, return, etc.
bitts
Weetie thats horrible! I'm so sorry. grouphug.gif

AM. your right in that I do know how too do this this stuff, but thats the problem. I'm wicked smart But just as crazy stupid. Main issue is that I need people to bounce ideas off, to keep my thoughts from channeling. At which point I'll start missing things like, would the 29 fit in my el cheapo stand. No matter how good I get at this. I'll always check to see, whether or not someone can see some thing that I've overlooked. Think about it, the amount of combined knowledge within the group is greater than any of us will have individually. At least until we're at the Phd level. Even then they do peer review.

Or to put it another way. Only a self aggrandizing megalomaniac would think there scheisse don't smell.
bitts
Nope won't fit.

Long, Long ago in an NR almost forgotten. There was a wise one entrusted with a sacred duty. This ancient was named Tiny & his word was law. Long though has he been from us, thus the noob tails have grown. We need another to pass this sacred duty to. But who can we trust with the mantle of cutter oh the tail.

Let it be decreed that the mantle be passed, passed to the cankle monster. Let his word be law.

All hail the cutter.
DHaut
Mwuahahah.

bitts
Needreefunds
Meh, dickie seems to be next in line. JMHO

*ducks*
DHaut
yeah, but he has dick in his name.
bitts
Richie makes a strong argument, though for the cutter must know the history & the lore. Fore with out this thy judgement could falter.
DHaut
dickie can have it if he shows up to claim it.

bitts is right, it's gotta be someone who's been her long enough to remember tiny.

D, I need someone to talk me out of that walk-around 240. Elizabeth isn't doing a good enough job. She seems okay with it!
DHaut
honestly, I would say unless you would get rid of all the other tanks, don't do it. something that big should have your singular focus hobby-wise. if you can consolidate all other tanks into the big one, i don't see anything wrong with getting it.

but make sure you've considered all costs. it comes with lights? sump? pumps? plumbing? rocks? do you have the tools to automate some things on it to make it easier?

also, i know who tiny is noobs.

It comes with everything but heaters and powerheads and I'm about to replace all of those in the 180 because of stray voltage. My skimmer is fine, I'm already at 220 gallons total system volume. Top off is the only thing I really need automated. My tanks are pretty low-tech mixed reefs, and mostly softies at that. No need for a ton of reactors or dosing pumps or anything. I have over 150 pounds of pretty decent rock, I dont need any more.

I probably won't do it, but damn is it a tempting deal.

360* viewable 8' 240 gallon. Comes with stand, hood, sump, pump, plumbing, and 3x250 MH and 8x39 t5ho. All I need is heaters, powerheads, and my skimmer and livestock. I'd set it up as a peninsula in the living room with one of the short ends against a wall.
spanko
And a nuclear reactor to supply power for all that equipment!

Oh wait, doesn't DH have a backyard working prototype of one?
DHaut

Yeah, I wouldn't run all of the lights. Running everything would definitely have a 20 amp breaker full. We would have to move the TV upstairs and make sure to plug the vacuum into adjacent rooms.
bitts
Come on Chris, feed the addiction.
fewskillz
If it's available when I get home from Daytona next Monday I'll consider it. I really want an 8' tank. I could get a whole bunch of tangs.
Markushka
Good god! 8' amazing!!!! I'd say do it, but i'm irresponsible so don't listen to me.
bitts
Mmm...

Achellis, Powder Blue & Brown, Atlantic Blue, Sailfin, Yellow, Purple, Idol...
fewskillz
I dont know what the final list would be, but Blond Naso is near the top.
fewskillz
My decision has been made for me, thankfully. He's decided to keep the 240. Good. I don't need it, I just was having a hard time passing up my ideal sized tank shy of doing some crazy, custom, built-in that I have envisioned for "someday".
Needreefunds
It was amazing while it lasted Chris.

I loved that tank.
laugh.gif
bitts
definitely voting it tank of the year.
fewskillz
Someday. Elizabeth really liked it too, the center overflow is what sold her. I might have to work on something similar. I really like the idea of having a tank where I had planned on putting that one.

I told him to let me know if he ever changes his mind.
bitts
Ooh... what if... 8' tank right. So there could be a 6' center based coast to coast, with minimal vertical structure to support it. Due to minimal weight. I would simple need to be able to stand against the currents with in the tank. but Still the columns could be dropped in size to maybe 6"x2". possibly even acting as a dry dock for the placement of vortechs. Oh the fun that could be had in planing...
DHaut
Just move into the aquarium that's near you.
Markushka
Its like when I almost got that 135g. ####ing #######s on my forum.
