Wow. You are all over the place here Weets.
Can you tell me what you mean\consider working well here.
Hmm, working well, okay.
It's early and my brain is still sleepy, but I'll try.
That tank has a lot of Macro in it, which is what I'd want to duplicate on a larger scale with any new tank I get.
One of the coolest benefits from using the Fiji Mud has been a dramatic improvement in the coloration of a Macro that I got from organism.
It came in as a hitchiker on a coral at the wholesaler he works at.
Since it held it's dramatic coloration under strong Halides but faded somewhat under other lighting, he theorized that it did best under high lighting.
I initially had it high up under T5HO lighting in my 30g tank.
Here is how it looked there:

I put a frag with a smallish piece of it in my Pico under PC lighting.
Initially it looked the same, but shortly after adding my Refugium with Fiji Mud in it it colored up to this:

It's a pretty dramatic difference and I'm pretty sure that the Mud was the cause.
The Mud is supposed to encourage a good population of Microfauna, which I believe I am seeing in that tank.
I am seeing a lot of Copepods as well as the usual Pill Bug type Amphipods, baby snails showing up, and lil tiny worms wiggling on the glass.
The Mud is supposed to release minerals and make dosing unnecessary in Soft Coral tanks.
In that tank I have lots of Macro, Xenia, Mushrooms, 3 Zoa Frags, Encrusting Green Gorgonian, Star Polyps, newly added Blasto Merletti and Encrusting Goniopora.
I have never dosed 2 part and in the 2.5 months it's been up have only done 2 WC's.
The numbers in there are as follows:
Alk- 8.3 dKh
Ca- 415
Mg- 1275
Are those perfect #'s? No.
But I think they're pretty good given what I just said above.
(The salt mix I've been using has been measuring kinda low on Mg from the start.)
That's it.
