LOL. Looks like the NR team already answered your question. That's why I hang out here so often. Nothin but helpful peeps. So yeah, I REALLY LIKE THE SPS BLUE LIFE 250W 14K. It's mostly white with just a faint blue. I've tried different bulbs in the past, and although it has been suggested that I DON'T use this bulb, it will be extremely difficult to make another switch. (But I might do it if Radium comes out with a 250W 14K DE of their own )

Sorry to see that the Superman lost some of the blue base that it had in my tank. I'm sure it will come back, and once it does, get ready for it to GROW and fast.

They all look great in your tank, although it looks like they've lost a little color in adjusting to your lighting.

Not a problem with the bonsai. I asked for a tiny piece anyway. The important thing is that the rest are ALIVE. These frags ain't got nuthin but time...

So I glued some sticks I got from the BAR swap. Wasn't sure if I wanted to color them up more or not, but I decided they would color up better once in their permanent spots. Adam, I'm going to grow yours out a bit before I mount them in the display. I'm even thinkin about mounting the blug stag and green vermiculata on the side of the glass, using epoxy covered magnets. Might be a cool growth experiment, but I need them to completely cover the plugs first.

Oh you must be talking about the yellow turbinaria, which I now know is the same thing. hehe. I gave it away to a friend 7 or 8mos ago. Had it for 1.5yrs before it overgrew my nano tank. It was a nice piece though. Would have kept it if I had a 50G.

Mounting the Blue Stag and Green Acro on the side of the glass would look great. PodRod (Karen), who is local to me, gave me a Frag Mag a while back to try out and it worked awesome. They are a little pricey for me and could probably be made a lot easier.

The Blue Stag was always a pretty slow grower vertically for me so it will probably base out a good bit first before sprouting up. The Green Acro should grow pretty quick for you once it gets used to your lighting and overall conditions.

Looking forward to seeing how everything comes along.

Do you have all of the frags you've posted over the last couple of pages on frag racks in your display or are some of them in your frag tank??

Ooh, good to know that the stag is a slow vertical grower. Might need to sub that with another for the side challenge. But we'll see how he does compared to the green one. Anxious to see what the superman looks like in a few weeks. I can already see some blue tint.


All of them were in my display. It looked more cluttered than my daughter's room in there! Wanted to acclimate them to the same light, so I started them off in the display right away. So mostly all frags were mounted, except yours which I will keep in the rear of the display tank on a mag-rack. The rest have been moved to basement (frag tank). I just installed a custom cut piece of tempered glass beneath the hang-on-mount fixture for the frag tank. UV problems are solved and the light to the frag tank is much brighter.

I know the tank is overdue for an FTS. Maybe I'll give the coral a couple of days to adjust to their new spots, before I snap some pics.

Beautiful Randy. For the amount of frags that you have in there, everything is nicely placed. Better have a new tank in the plans or space in the frag tank once those sticks start to grow out

Sure, I may be fragging the other ones in a few months. All of the acans in my tank, except for the one pictured above are from Fish-n-Frags out of San Diego. Turns out he's a very reputable coral keeper/seller. Everyone else calls them FNF Acans. That's the brand I suppose.


Thanks! That favia head is huge. I was able to steer the cut, using the diamond band saw they had at the LFS.

I know it might be a little soon for an updated FTS, but I had to move out the larger chalices to make room for the new favia. There is truly no room in here for chalices. Not big ones anyway. Can't wait for the new sticks to color up. That should make the upper part of the display a little more attractive. Also thinking about fusing a Leng Sy Cap with the Idaho Grape, but I need a frag of it before I can do it. Hehe.

FNF acans are amazing randy, a buddy of mine went in on a small group buy from him for two of the craziest acans I've ever seen. He just got them about a month ago and he already has like 5 people asking for frags of his frag.
