We replaced our old drop in chiller and heater last week with the Peltec 900 model on one of our reef aquariums. Man what a difference! It's super quite, smaller and the temperature doesn't fluctuate near as much as it did using a heater and traditional chiller. We have this one in a home theater room so it really cuts down on the ambient noise while watching the theater. More expensive but I think it's well worth it. Hopefully I can get a graph to show the temp fluctuations...or lack of smile.gif

FYI - I think we had someone replace a small chiller here on Nano-Reef with a Peltec last week. His tank temp shot up to 95! He thinks his heater failed. Anyhow he bought the Ocean 150 Peltec. Hopefully he is in good shape now. It would be good to hear from you. These units are perfect for Nano setups. Very small, quite and they kee the temp very stable.

I realllly want one, but.... the prices are still too insane for the technology.
Silence is always worth the extra premium you have to pay for it though.

Is there a way to omit their temp controller and hook up the heat/chill on independent plugs like on an ACjr?

The controller comes with the unit but you can easily plug the unit into an AC Jr. or other controller to build in redundancy. I'm doing it my my unit.

On another note, how do I get this forum to notify me when someone posts a question or comment to us? This would be a nice to have know you posted this so we could reply right away.

At the top of the page theres an Option button, Click it and select Track this Topic. Another way is to check mark the "Enable email notification of replies when you type a reply
