Managed to snap a pic of one of my new minis, it is actually much brighter yellow than it looks. It is very small about the size of a dime:

I just want it to be slightly larger before I do. As small as this little guy is I don't even know if I can see the mouth, much less cut through it!

I also found the missing one. I am kinda tempted to set up like a 2.5g pico to house these guys so I can keep a closer eye on them. Are they hardy enough to handle life in a pico well? If so, what would be the minimum suggested light to keep them happy and healthy?

Feed it a mysis once/twice a day...it'll grow quickly.

They should be fine in a 2.5, and the usual 13/18w PC would be enough lighting.

1. dsh... whatever your name is, be careful with utility blades. they sometimes have an oily coating to protect them from rusting. rub it off with a paper towel and a tiny bit of soap (RINSE WELL)

4. dshasdfasdf, the last time i cut, i used styrofoam as a surface. it werked GUD.

lol, true true... But since mine came as hitchhikers anyways, I guess I'd have nothing to lose $$$ wise. I could cut a couple of them in half, and use one of the halfs to throw in a blender and see what happens, hmm... Then again Adin would find where I live and kill me.

Hey, I didn't ask for them. I noticed them, then they multiplied, each one splitting once. I lost one somehow... Oh yeah, I remember maiming it to remove it once not sure what it was. I still have 3 though...

gloves if you're allergic to bee stings...wear gloves
clean blades by rinsing in tap, dry really well with towels, etc to prevent rust
just throw them into a bath made with water from the system...thats what they're gonna end up in anyway

on smaller ones, i don't always cut mouth-out... one slice down the diameter is fine.

Just thought I'd share mine that I cut tonite. I now its a good ole BTA and not a mini or maxi like has been posted, but I used the same technique. I did this because this anemone only partially split and had a torn mouth. It became like a pacman shape. It stayed like this for a week with no signs of completing the split or trying to heal back together. Here are a few pics.

I got a huge urge to turn my tank into a anemone prop tank now after reading this thread!

i had a little accident with my "mini haddoni" last night...

i dropped serious money on this guy. i wasn't going to cut it until it reached 4" but my bone cutters ripped it in half (while i was trying to remove an adjacent anemone)

i almost cried. it was a very messy cut. looks okay today; i'm still worried.

Its so pretty I hope it will be okay. I don't know much yet about the healing stuff, yet, but it looks ok to me.
