Sublunary, you need to teach me how to get my flamer to come out lol. I've dedicated my 10g to my flaming prawn for 3 months now and I still only get a glimpse of him once a week or so. Wouldn't trade him for the world though

Honestly, they started coming out much more often when I added the trimmas. I think having another fish out and about signals it's safe to come out of hiding. That and lots of hiding spaces, so they never have to go far to get cover.

Hmm maybe it's like how a tetra doesn't like being in less than a group of 6, just get skittish. I just put a zebra bar goby in last night, maybe that will help the little guy. Hopefully I didn't make a bad decision getting such a large goby.

I finally have my dream of lots of nano gobies.
I have 2 x Trimma rubromaculatus

2 x "Eviota nigriventris" (they aren't really the "blackbelly gobies" listed on fishbase)

4 x Eviota pellucida

They are a tropical species and can be kept in warmer tanks.

+1. It looks like a lot of Trimmas/Eviotas are collected from Cebu in the Philippines. I've remember getting two that I couldn't ID but were photographed by a Philippines underwater photographer.

Practically every picture I take of corals in the Philippines have trimma gobies in them. I guess they are hard to catch or fragile as they are expensive relative to how common they are.

cool looking gobies! i like those masked gobies/eviota pellucida and the skunk pygmy gobies!
I just bought an ORA sharknose last week he became food for either my coral banded shrimp or more likely a big bristle worm. =/
Now i can't put any gobies in the tank till i identify and get rid of the killer...

Well if you did somehow manage to find one in a lfs you'd better be prepared to feed him SEA URCHINS!
That's right the Nine Line Goby eats the sucker feet of sea urchins exclusively! Who woulda thought?

Here are some pictures I posted on my build thread at RC. Yashia Goby, and his sidekick pistol shrimp. Might as well share it here. I love the pattern of the "tissure" between the highfin and body. It's cool looking. They move from burrow to burrow. The goby knows when I'm going to feed the tank, I just drop the pellets in and he zooms in to gobble it whole. I feed it 3 pellets at a time, and whatever the goby misses, the shrimp makes a cameo to tonka truck it back into the hole.

Jimbo that is a female Yasha I believe.

They are very unique. Unlike any goby/pistol pair I have ever had. The shrimp is completely unique as well. He literally pushes and pulls the goby around to get him out of the way or for whatever reason. No other goby pistol pair does this from what I have seen.

I have
got to make an account on some site for viewing pictures someday. These are links to pictures I posted on DeviantArt.
Here's the red headed goby resting on a feather duster.
http://fav.me/d4re5zaAnd here's the green-banded goby.
http://fav.me/d4raojwI need to take a better one of the jaguar goby. Maybe I should just stick the one I have in scraps as a snapshot for now. I see him pretty much everyday, but not for long. He comes out to eat.
Do to territorial issues I had to give away the red. The jaguar goby was being abused. Now Jaggy has the lovely little green to hang with, only 3/4" long. The green banded goby is named Raphael after the Ninja Turtle because he's green and has a red bandanna.
Everyone looks happy, but this is my first tank and it's only 5 months old so I'm still learning what "happy" looks like.
