wimby
Hi I redid my 30gl tank due to a major algae issue I could not get rid of. I had old live rock all dried out in the basement put it in a tub of waterchange water with powerhead and heater and let it sit there for 3 months. Then on February I re did the tank. Here's what we ended up with. 30GL 3x Rapid led par 38 7 bulb 1x Reef Brite Blue 1 Aquafuge 1Eshopps PSK-75 Skimmer 1 Small Whisper Power Filter 2 Power Heads 8-25-12 fts Hung the lights with Pvc Tha's all for now Thanks for looking. RayWhisperer
That's a crap load of light. Link to comment
wimby
No It's fine. Not a lot. Two wasn't enough coverage and the reef brite just adds more blue. Link to comment
bryanphillips
Looks good, deff not too much light. The only problem with these pictures is the yankee banner But seriously, nice tank and cool fish choices. Not the usual! Link to comment
wimby
Thanks. I've seen people with more light over smaller tanks. Sorry about the banner but those are My Boys Gotta Love Them. Link to comment
matt frizz
Looks awesome. Seems algae free. What did you do with the fish and corals when you had the rock drying out? Or did you just buy all of your livestock? Link to comment
wimby
I tried to save what I could of zoas and such. There wasn't much in it since I put it all in my 75 along with the fish. The rock I had sitting all dried out from a tank tear down. So I put it in a tub of saltwater with a powerhead and heater for 3 months. Then redid the tank using that rock, dry sand and 3 cups of sand from the 75. Then bought all new snails and fish for the tank. It has been set up since Feb. The old rock is sitting in buckets drying out in my garage for I guess a future build Link to comment
wimby
A small update Corlas have been growing nicely. For some reason all the fish disapeared. I have just a yellow tail damsel in there moved from another tank. Just one smushed in middle looks like 2 has grown a lot Thanks for Looking Link to comment

wimby
Been Awhile since I have updated this tank. All was well then Sandy hit. Lost just about everything. So I started back up again. Most frags are from my 75gl. I have one Flasher Wrasse in there. Thanks For looking Link to comment

ChouDawg
Any updates? I just found out Visio makes a 30L and I'm very much considering it for my next build. Did you have any issues with bowing? Link to comment
wimby
Sorry about no updates. Other then everything doing real well. No bowing at all. A 30L. Sounds nice. What are the dimensions of that tank? This is 36x12x16. I'll try to put up some new pics after Easter. Link to comment
gena
Wow!!! That rock anemone is gorgeous!!! What a great centerpiece coral. Did you lose the torch? It was a beauty!!!! Link to comment
ChouDawg
No worries, look forward to seeing them when you get to it. After a bit more digging I found out Aqueon makes both a 30L and a 30BR, the 30L is 36x12x16H and the 30BR is 36x18x12H. I'm almost certain I'm going to go with the 30BR as I like that it's 4" shorter both for ease of lighting and because I really don't like getting my wet all the way up my arm with deep tanks. Yeah I lost about everything in the first couple of pics of this thread from Sandy. I did pick up a similar torch that I have in the 75. Waiting for a split so I can stick it in here. Mostly everything in this tank are frags from the 75. Thanks on the anemone. I have 5 of them. Two in this tank the rest in the other. The one you see is huge. Bigger now then that pic. So I guess I have a long then. I got it at a dollar a gallon sale. As for whole arm in tank its really not that much. I only go past the elbow a little bit. Its my other tank that my whole arm gets wet. I only got the 30 cause I already had a 36 inch light. LoL ( now led's) Plus I was looking for something smaller for my den. Good luck with your build. I'll be looking for a thread. Link to comment
