SO much is ordered! Also we ordered new E-Cigs so we can quit smoking! So essited got some cherry flavored stuff yum! Wow looks amazing. Love it. My friend used that stuff, the cig things. FlCandy Posted May 6, 2012 Author Share Posted May 6, 2012 He had one but the atomizer is now bad (after 4 months pretty good use!) and now we are out of the fluid. So we are upgrading to the better one and got one for each of us! I liked it better then the real cigs as I felt like I could breath better. So looking forward to the lower weekly $$$ loss for his 1-2 pack a day habit and my 1 every 3 days. Soon I can't wait to stain it tomorrow! Link to comment

Quitting was one of the hardest things I ever did. Now, I refuse to let anything have control over me like that. Plus, it stinks like ass. I did it cold turkey. Your body will thank you. Yeah but it's the knowing it is a needle and there is 100's of them in you. Here are the Tank and Stand pics! Taping the tanks for painting. Display painted, we didn't tape all of the bottoms as it doesn't matter. SUMP painted. Both tanks Display Tank SUMP Prestain First few strokes of the stain. The stain I chose Still kind of light for my taste, may get another coat, Got finished pics in a sec. Almost done. Final Product, IDK I kind of like it but would also kind of like it a bit darker, total PITA to stain though..... Way Flashed out, it's not that red, more rich. So thats that for now, I am debating another coat, may just get some wipe on poly to get the shine and it will be done. I am pretty pleased, A was shocked when I stained it, he says it looks like a REAL piece of furniture now. So excited! Stuff should be arriving soon and the transfer should happen next weekend. IMO, I'd do one more light coat to even it out and do 2 coats of poly with a rag. I'd be concerned about the SW on that nice finish. I guess its really a matter of taste. You got the how-to part down. Either I missed it or you didn't show us what the front cover will look like? Link to comment

I am thinking maybe just some wipe on poly will give me a richer color and it will be fine. Painting the trim was a giant PITA though and I would hate to have to do it again, if I did i would stain everything but the trim and leave it a shade lighter. So pleased! Leak test tomorrow and then the powerheads should be here either tomorrow or Tuesday, and the sand and etc from Marine Depot will be here this week as well. So excited! Link to comment

All I did was the painting ans sealing parts, he did all the build! In the kitchen, I like the color better now, I think it is staying this color. Stained and sealed. Beast of a stand! Deckoz2302 Posted May 7, 2012 Share Posted May 7, 2012 stand looks good, pro-tip, use terry sponge(staining pad) to apply the stain to get it uniform will be lots easier then using a brush if you do a second coat. Link to comment
