Agreed. :)

yoshii is going to rub this in my face when she sees this. we've been arguing about whether or not i need more coral for weeks

and i don't want corals to sting each other so i don't put them that close

you should a candycane, slimer acro, neon green toadstool, more z&p's, and more euphyllias. Do you plan to upgrade the lighitng?

depends on the coral. the only thing i would worry about is that frogspawn.

planning on adding another fish soon? i recomend a shrimp/goby pair.

NO MORE EUPHYLLIAS they're evil and out to get me. and in my opinion they're too agressive to keep a bunch of them in a small tank

as for lighting, i'm planning on adding some leds but my mom doesnt want to spend that much money

yeah i'm trying to find a female banggai cardinal and a blue mandarin, but for now i can't find anything that is good enough

You mean like 100% LED or some strips in the hood with the PC?

T5's are good as well. ;)

i don't really know how to do the diy stuff and i need to have the tank fully covered because i have birds, so i don't think i can do t5s (or much else for that matter)

any suggestions for corals or fish? preferrably under $20 and non-agressive

No FTS of the cichlid tank?

Link to comment

For additional lighting without removing the hood, why not some stunner strips or other add-in LED strips?

You should get moar LPS & SPS

"55 gallon african rift lake setup" = cichlid FTS

i actually have the stunner strip webpage bookmarked for when i have $50 to throw away ;)

i want more sps i just don't know of any that will be ok with my lights. any suggestions?

I wound't SPS in this tank. monti caps and digis are really all you can do, and none the cool colored ones. like i said, a green slimer would be ok too.

if you ask for suggestions, all you are going to get are acans, zoas, a ric...

just go to your LFS and see what interests you.

everytime i find one i like i'm told i need better lights :tears:

maybe i need to expedite upgrading the lights. if i don't eat for a week, i might save enough money to get a stunner strip :D

i like acans, but i prefer corals that won't kill their neighbors. and i was thinking about getting blue zoas and putting them in the middle of the tank. thats where my green zoas are and they are extremely happy. that colony has grown from about 40 heads to approximately 150 heads in 3 months
