fote03
Looks nice. Are you going to add any fish to the fuge? There are a couple really crazy planted SW tanks on RC. Link to comment
keydiver
im probably going to end up adding fish to it, but i want it to be unique, so i havent really found the right fish yet. It's also going to be a growout for zoanthids, so i don't want any types of anglers or frogs. Any suggestions of a really cool fish that does well in a planted tank? Link to comment
bitts
there are acctually a bunch but envy & am would be the ones to ask. as for things to change or take note of. the bio balls may not be needed. Link to comment
keydiver
lol rockworks almost done pics to follow Link to comment
keydiver
Heres the tank with the new macros in place and 15 lbs of dry rock along with another 4 lbs live rock. Hows the rockwork, and placement of the macros? there are acctually a bunch but envy & am would be the ones to ask. as for things to change or take note of. the bio balls may not be needed. bitts- Yeah it was just that bubbles were getting into my return and it was a quick fix. I'm not sure how i can solve the bubble problem without the use of bioballs. Any ideas? Link to comment
bitts
this may help with the pics http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=227845 then for the bubbles try a hartford loop the one in the pic is kind of backwards but you should be able to the idea by goggling it. it should have the flow going the other way is all. keydiver
bitts- im having trouble with bubbles going from my sump into my DT through the return pump. I made an acrylic wall as you can see in the pics that i put the return in, and when the water flows over the wall, it creates some bubbles....would the hartford loop work for that? Link to comment
bitts
bubbles being sucked into the pump or forming in the plumbing (is the pump caveatting). the loop could be used but should be able to prevent the bubbles. my first thought is add back pressure to the return (aka a nozzel or something to up the head) Link to comment
keydiver
heres an update of the blue ochtodes. The prolifera is already showing signs or growth Link to comment

Coastie
I can't wait What is the red stuff and does it provide any benefits to a tank? I like plants but don't want anything that could go nuts. Forgot to add that I like the tank! Props to ya! Link to comment
keydiver
the one with the barely visable orange tips is flame algae, and the other is titan. The red one that looks like it has little bubbles is red grape caulerpa. If you dont want anything that could go crazy in your main tank, get either titan or dragons breath they are both great in reducing nitrates and they look good, adding a bit of diversity to any coral based tank. IMO, neither of these will get out of control and neither go sexual Link to comment
keydiver
this prolifera growth does not fail to amaze me....this is the same angle of the shot i took of the new prolifera leaves 2 days ago. Dragons breath is starting to get orange tips as well as a little new growth, and ochtodes are coloring up really nicely. On a different note, what would be the ideal CUC for a macro tank? Im getting a couple splotches of cyano and green glass.... 1 Link to comment
keydiver
As far as CUC i was thinking nerites for the glass and rocks, and glowing marginellas and ceriths for the sand. I'D also throw some porcelain crabs and maybe a shrimp (not sure what type yet) Link to comment
keydiver
Heres An Update. The tank is really growing out nicely. I got a fish in there but ill wait til he comes out so i can get a pic. 1 Link to comment

keydiver
ok... I def havent kept up with updates, so heres one thats long overdue... I plan on adding some more diversity with either some more of got2envys stuff (her stuff started this whole tank, Maria is a great person to buy from if you're looking to set up a macro tank), or maybe one of John Maloney's frag packs. and a FTS 1 Link to comment
