I went there one time and that was enough for me. That tank was awesome though ! To bad that is all they had. -_-

dude... you should totally go back!

i used to be like, "meh." about their store, too.

but they've made a pretty good turn around from the diatom ridden tanks they used to have.

i was quite surprised at the health of everything in the store.

i would really call them one of the best lfs in Sac right now.

the service is really good, dude is pretty knowledgable,

and they will sell you ANY sps colony (or frag thereof) out of the tank....at a good price.

this place is comin back..... if they can get business.

o street is cool.

they have dope sps selection....

and the dude is fun to chat with.

i usually get my salt and fish food there.

i thot it was kinda funny that the guy fed the same exact stuff as you, sam.

:D

any new frags, man?

if you live in or around the Sacramento area,

then you need to come and check this place out!

in addition to an amazing tank,

theyre livestock and dry goods prices are some of the lowest around.

i have moar pics and videos... but im tired.

It is one easy store to get to . Right off the freeway. I will stop by and check out the strides they have made next time I am up that way. Thanks for posting the great pics.

thank you, and welcome all....

everyone should go there and buy stuff.....

:D

They must be your official "sponsor". Lol....

You are pimping em hard! I'd go if I lived close. We don't have enough in my area. :(

I haven't been there in a while, but I was pretty happy with what they have and their prices. I got the best looking purple firefish from them that I have seen anywhere, SUPER healthy, over a year and a half ago for only like $25. They have really fat/happy mandarins in the tank directly across from the register too and a pretty cool little 4 gallon nano with a huge torch and some softies sitting up on the counter. Never knew they would frag out of their large tank though, but it makes sense. I'll definitely be hitting them up soon to check it out.

++ for good prices and nice coral's!

its just that the lfs' in my area are all starting to go to sh*t, or shut down completely.

this one has some great staff and great stuff.

since they just switched ownership (i think) theyre doin very well.

they just need moar business...

what can i say, i support mah locals.

:D

I haven't been there in over a year because it's always been just "meh" to me...cramped aisles, limited parking and limited livestock selection. Seems like the economy has hit peggy pretty hard too? Their other shop on Power Inn Road isn't looking too good either. Who's the new owner? Maybe a quick trip towards that way is in order.

I really like O street, but I prefer the other store owned by the same people, Aqua Workz.

  • 1 month later...

I've been going to Ost aquarium for a long time. I must say they have made a complete 180. Joe and Tony have done a great job turning there large display around. And the black tip reef shard is still great to look at. I have bought and traded several sps frags with them and the pieces I got in return were very nice and very chunky frags. All of which are doing wonderful in my 34g solana. I would definitely suggest checking it out if you haven't already.
