$100 bulb mistake? What to do?

Great point purpleup. I also suspect UV radiation being the cause for even SPS bleaching/death.

also, Radium brand =/= radium element

what a waste of a radium bulb, feel free to ship it to me instead of smashing it in the alley. rolleyes.gif

never had this problem before in any of my fixtures, but PurpleUP's suggestion that UV shield glass is inadequate sounds reasonable. Especially since he went through what you just did (though apparently to a lesser degree).

I would try the additional glass addition first. if it still doesn't work, i guess either swapping bulbs or swapping fixtures is your next course of action. i'd rather swap fixtures, cause the radium is really quite lovely.

not sure how marine depot's policy is, but when the radium i ordered from hellolights turned out to be defective, i just called them and they shipped me a new one.
