Special thanks to all those who’ve helped me (and hopefully continue ) Originally I bought a used Bay-Front tank that was old and dirty: And cleaned it up to be like this: But after much planning I decided that it was just a bit too big, and was gonna cost too much money at this stage in my life. So instead, I picked up a bargin’ on a 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank that hadn’t been collected by the person who ordered it (I put black backing on the two sides that will be against walls ): I then bought the cabinet (wood and tools was going to cost too much): With the help of my granddad it was stained, and sealed: It’s location in the fish room (aka my bedroom ): All of the goodies sitting in front of it just waiting to be setup: Preview shot of tank with lights on : My current list of equipment: Heto 150W DE MH + 2 x 24W Actinics Hailea 1/10HP Chiller Vortech MP20 Two-little-fishies PhosBan reactor (will be running carbon) Ehiem Universal Pump 1250 EcoSystem Pro 40 HOB Fuge + Skimmer 2 x 50W Hydor THEO Heaters API Saltwater Master Test Kit API Reef Master Test Kit Refractometer Digital PH Pen RO/DI Filter and other bits a pieces… Ok, so, my plan is to have a mixed reef with the following: LPS SPS Softies 2 x Ocellaris Clowns 1 x Bangaii Cardinal 1 x Royal Gramma Cleanup crew… It’s been up and running for about 2 months now, here are some photos of it currently: FTS (a bit old) Blood Red Chalice Orange and Mauve Zoa’s Orange and Mauve Zoa’s Grey Zoa’s Top Down Zoa’s Jardini Hammer My Biscuit Starfish Clowns Zoa’s Acan Link to comment

I get most of my live stock from Nielsens Marine Mates (Beenleigh, QLD), QLD Coral Creations (Sumner Park, QLD), and Pet City (Mt Gravatt, QLD)... I've also had some shipped from WA, from a place called Oceanarium, you should google it, they've got some nice stuff every now and again Link to comment

Yes I did, left it there to make sure the weight of the tank was nicely distributed good job. love the corals! Thanks very much ! Very nice coral growth. Cheers ! Nice. Yer, I've seen them too, I've been waiting to see some really nice corals on their site, but it's all pretty expensive... Do they charge lots to ship up to you? never seen a biscuit starfish before. very colorful and unique specimen! Thanks ! I actually got him out of pure accident... The place where I bought my live rock keeps it in their starfish tank, and when the guy was pulling it out of the tank he was making sure the get all the starfish off... So took the rock home, put it in the tank, and an hour later that guy popped up ! No acclimation, no nothing, and he survived... He went in to hiding for about 2 weeks and I thought he was dead, but now he comes out every day and just strolls round the tank... He's features on melev's reef now ! Yer, it's definitely my favourite Zoa ! I've been contacting the guy who sold it to me, trying to get him to get me some more really nice ones... Thanks, everyone seems to love him He actually hitched a ride in on my live rock, but I got him from a store called QLD Coral Creations, and they collected him from a coral collection spot up near Cairns, QLD, Australia Link to comment

The guy actually sells them pretty cheap over here, about AU$50, but overnight shipping to the states would be like US$500 Can you manually split them? Don't you have to wait for it to split itself? I appreciate it Yep, that's the plan, I've just put in two montipora frags, and i've got a couple of acropora frags ordered and on their way, and my LFS is hunting down some really really bright zoa's for me, and once they're all in it will be all about keeping it properly maintained and letting it grow Link to comment
