Where did you get this...

Let me answer that by quoting myself lol...

The aqualifters came with those brackets. I bought them for cheap from a store who had some of those Tom Rapids Pro PS3 wet dry filters returned and credited. Those brackets come with them so they can sit right near the overflow box they prime.

I lucked out getting them with the brackets. I am sure you can purchase them separately though.

Wow, this is coming together real nicely.. I wish I had your skillz.

Well that is nice of you to say! :P

running the scwd again? you musta liked how it worked from the 40..

I really did love the flow I got from usuing the pair of SCWD's on my 40br. There are a few videos in that thread that show how much massive, indirect, random flow I had in the tank from using two SCWDs (one on a closed loop) and apsolutely no powerheads in the aquarium.

This time around I and going to use a pair of Vortech MP10 pumps instead of a closed loop. I think it will turn out even better!

Hizzah! (trumpets blare, knights raise their swords!)

Time for water approaches!!

Hopefully tonight the tank will be full!

Can't wait to see this thing with water ;)

Aquascaping this baby is going to be fun (and challenging)!

Yeah, I am constantly thinking about how I am going to scape this tank. I know how I want it to look in the end all grown in, but how to set up the rocks to produce that effect is going to be difficult. It will be very different than the 40br, and probably more similar to the 20.

Get some water in there! What are you using for a return pump? I think it's a Maxi-Jet Utility.

It is in fact a Maxi-Jet Utility pump; 5500 I believe (largest model).

lovin' the Herbie bro...very next gen.

I <3 HERBIE

lol... You should come by when it's running and hear how little noise is produced by my system. My computer will probably be louder.

OMGWTF? WATER!!!

Well, this may not be a good enough excuse to post more photos to some, but to me it was! lol

R/O unit is all hooked up with an in-line TDS (IN:156 - OUT:000) and is currently filling up my aquarium with wonderfully pure water. I picked up a refractometer and a bucket of Tropic Marin Pro Reef salt today as well. Hopefully by daybreak I can plug in the pump and start mixing some salt into this thing!

Well I have the tank running...

Unfortunately the SCWD is rattling quite loudly and I suspect there is a problem with it. I have examined it the best I could and can't see anything inside of it, and I haven't been able to flush anything out of it. Other than that the system seems to be working as expected and is very quiet!

Hopefully I will get this SCWD issue sorted out shortly.

Looks fantastic. I like how you turned the stand into a "built-in" feature of the room.

I'm setting up a 30/40br setup and I'm going nuts trying to figure out how I want to set it up...

was wondering why you didnt place valves in lines coming to and from your SCWD? wouldnt it make it easier for servicing it? I have found they work great for the mony but they due tend to plug...

Tank looks amazing as does the renovations.

Wouldnt mind knowing were you are going to place the Mp10's ?

The tubing isn't hard to get on and off the units (which is why I use clamps) and once I shut down the return pump the water drains from the lines so there isn't anything to use the valve for really.

The ones on my 40br didn't plug up once in the 6 months or whatever it was I had them running. I did clean them out a couple times though.

I am having a huge problem with the SCWD rattling like crazy at the moment. I have contacted the retailer who asked me to run some tests on it before I send it back. Hopefully it is something that I can correct and not have to wait for a new one.

again were are you thinking of placing the mp10's ?? you went through so much trouble to keep everything so clean (it does look above and beyond well done) and now your going to put power heads and cords out there for every one to see.....

you will find most of them distrubuted all over the niagara region except for the montis lost them due nudies (grrrrrrrr)

LoL fair enough. :P

The MP10's are being used for their controllability. Also, there will be no cords visable inside the tank because the Vortech pumps have external motors. They are super low profile and won't stick out past the overflow box. If these pumps had not been invented than I would have run another closed loop like I did on the 40br.

I am just seriously impressed with the Vortech pump's capabilities and would like to harness their wave-making voodoo magic.

If this tank does not get TANK OF THE MONTH/YEAR On EVery Forum once it is setup and once Master TJ Miyagi finishes his aquascape then I will have to wither away and die...

This guy is one of the most knowledgable and creative reefers I know!.

True Master of his Art!

I'll have to frag a White Knight for you too... Make sure to bring the disection kit :)
