No clue about MH bulbs, sorry. But I definitely recommend Reefgeek for bulbs. Reasonable prices, excellent turn around time, and even better packing. biggrin.gif

Bulb came in yesterday. Very well packed. Came in a huge box with lots of packing peanuts. I would definately recomend SOS bulbs from now on.

Installed the bulb & WOOHOO! I have 14k goodness. OMG, I can't describe how blue it is. It's like the perfect balance of color.

However, my dumbas$ tripped the timer, so the mh stayed on from 8pm till 5am. I guess it isn't that bad, cause the bulb does need a burn in time. But my Evap was crazy. I hope it works properly today. If not I need a new timer.

So I forgot to mention. Yesterday I found 2 small starfish in my tank. This is very strange cause I never had stars in this tank.

They both have 5 legs & are smaller than a dime. Any suggestions?

dont look quite like asterina's might fit the profile of it tho.... mostly white with black speckles.

looks like any other 5 legged star, just way smaller.

the only thing that puzles me is that i havent added anything to the tank in weeks, if not a month.

last 2 purchases where

3 lbs of rubble rock which went in the sump. So explain how a star crawled up the intake tube, thru the hob overflow & into the tank. OR past the pump, up the return tube, thru the outlet, into the tank.

The most recent thing i bought was the 'nem, which didnt come on a rock & i inspected the bags contents.

unless it came in on the order from reef cleaners, which would mean i have a sh!t ton of these stars in the tank; just havent noticed them yet.

Well if it becomes a problem (like i come home one day & see 6 or 7 of these guys) i'll get a harliquien shrimp.

Yeah I have some also. They just show up. It's odd. I want to know where the crab that I have came from. I never saw it in the 45.I caught him with the corner of my eye the other day and have'nt seen him since. From what I saw hw did'nt look hairy and my corals seem fine.

Hi Mark!

Glad the bulb came in w/out any problems and you like how it looks. cool.gif Sending good thoughts that the timer issue was a one-time occurance.

Funny, I had an asterina pop up the other day, never saw one in my tank before. I don't think it's a problem unless there's a major population explosion. smile.gif

Well your good thoughts worked out well.... i came home and saw the MH on from outside my house. Cause my wife forgot to turn on the outside lights, so all i saw out of my kitchen window was a blue glow. It was epic. Wait, i mean IS epic.

of course now i cant find a single star. doesnt matter to me all that much. So i have asterina's YAY! it's better than aptasia
