Here are a few pictures of my Red Sea Max 130D.

Only been setup just over a week now, but i'm really pleased with how she's looking.

Will look a lot better in a few months when there's some fish and coral in her.

But already fascinated by the amount of life moving around the tank that has come from the living rock.

I have added around 11-12Kg of living rock and also added a small CUC at the weekend.

This consisted of 2 Turbo snails and a blue knuckle hermit crab.

There is already a red legged hermit crab that hitch hiked on the living rock, along with quite a few Stomatella.

I have added a Koralia 2 for extra flow. Removed the bio balls and the cycle seems to be going very well.

With the addition of the skimming cup (rather large i know), i have been able to raise the water level which has resulted in the protein skimmer working relatively well (I know there are options to change this for a quieter more efficient version, which i may well do at a later date).

I kept a fish only marine tank for quite a few years, but stopped around 8 years ago. This is my first venture into a reef aquarium and things certainly seem to have moved on in the last 8 years!

Well not much to see, but here she is.....

Well returned a hitch-hiker to the store where i bought my Live rock...

Here is a pic i took of it last night.

Don't mind saying that is scared the **** out of me when I first saw it. It only came out at night, so shone a torch at it, expecting it to be a starfish!

Identified it now as a Teddy Bear crab...

The store gave me a replacement piece of live rock to replace the piece housing said hitch-hiker.

Then after few hours, out crawls a black sea slug (Dendrodoris nigra) :o

So back it went...

Nice loking scape, wierd looking crab. Tank looks nice also, have you got an id on that macro, looks invasive.

Thanks!

No ID on the macro algae, no...

There are a few bits popping up, but at the same time I have very good water conditions with low nitrates (less than 5ppm and 0 Phosphates). So I guess it is doing a job..

Although I expect it to start dying off once the tank is established longer and the nutrients continue to drop as they are.

But I stand to be corrected on this.

Thought maybe it was time to put up a post of the tank as it is now...

A few new additions...

Fire Fish

A pair of mating clown fish

A pair of cleaner shrimps

Green star polyp coral

Finger coral

Pulsing coral

I'm really pleased with how the tank is turning out and how happy everything in it seems to be!
