andru24
Looking good. How long have you been running it? The fish, rock and water were all transferred for my 12G Eclipse back in the beginning of December. I have been adding about 1 or 2 corals per week since then. Link to comment

andru24
So I got some new goodies. My Tunze Nano skimmer arrived and I got another Koralia powerhead (nano) and also a real cheap ricordea. Pics to come. Still unsure of how I want to utilize the Tunze. Right now it is just sitting in chamber 2 with some chaeto. It seems to be working pretty good. I have been considering trying to widen chamber 1 so that I can fit it there and not have to worry about the water level affecting its performance. Anyone ever tried to remove the wall between 1 and 2 and put in a new wall? I'd be much more confident in doing this if the tank wasn't already stocked. I think I can still do this, just need to find a good reef-safe, epoxy or adhesive that I can use to attach the new wall. I also just ordered some acrylic sheet/tube and am going to try to make a new skimmate reservoir for the Tunze. The current one doesn't fit great and I don't want to dremel the hood if I don't have to. Link to comment

andru24
Also, the clown fish seems to be blind or otherwise impaired. He looks healthy, but just swims around a lot even at night without any particular interest in anything around him. When I feed he definetly senses that there is food around but doesn't appear to be able to actually find the food. Thoughts? -AJ Link to comment

Cheato is great but that combined with something like Chemi pure Would be super effective. I have a friend that has a blind clown, it has survived for years being hand fed. I don't know how it went blind though. PS- I am new to nano keeping as well I am just reading and regurgitating info. Link to comment

I will be building a different media rack for that chamber since right now the chemi-pure is just sitting on the bottom. Either that or maybe I'll put the chemipure under the skimmer. I'll try to hand feed him tonight... see how that goes. -AJ Link to comment
mkregs
Nice media rack and skimmer cup...those look really familiar....hmmmmm. Not sure where I might have seen something like those before....hmmmmm. Link to comment
andru24
Hey, I gave props to StevieT in the description. I would still recommend to anyone else that they purchase the InTank ones vs. trying to make their own. It cost me more in supplies (acrylic, new saw blade) than it would have just to buy them. But I always like to try to build stuff myself if possible. Plus I figured this was a good starter project for working with acrylic. -Andy Link to comment

Nah, just the skimmate cup, sans tube This also is a good idea, it would be easy to keep at the office! I'm thinking its the perfect size for a nice hippo tang and couple of zoas. He should have just enough room to turn around in place. Seriously though, scale it up by about 6x-10x and it would be a nice little pico... Hmmmmm next project perhaps. I have a friend that has a blind clown, it has survived for years being hand fed. I don't know how it went blind though. So I successfully fed the clown a bit of shrimp. He is definetly not able to see well. Didn't even flinch at my hand in front of his face. Other than the blindness he looks great. I will be continuing to hand-feed for awhile I guess. Hope his vision comes back. -AJ Link to comment
andru24
So the "blind" clown fish is doing well. Gotten a lot more comfortable and is better able to find the food I put in. I have also added a few new frags from my LFS's $12 tank... I have gotten pretty much all my frags from this tank, and its worked out really well so far. My favorite Torch came from there. Anyway... PICS! Brain Coral Some sort of chalice, not much to look at now but hoping it grows into something Cool colored favia Full Tank Shot Full Tank Shot w/ stand (side table) -AJ Link to comment
