ReefKing's Red Sea Max

ReefKing

Recommended Posts

I bought the RSM back in mid November. I added about 42lbs of live rocks (Marshall and Indonesian) that I bought from a fellow reefer (He had the rocks in his tank for 2 years). Also, added about 60lbs of seeded live sand and seeded water from my 125g tank at home.

I regret not taking prior pictures. <_<

My mods are Tunze 9002, Stevie-t's special cup and media rack, back fan, and K2. I also changed the light bulbs earlier today.

Here are my livestocks:

2 Australian black perc

Looks great! I feel like I'm falling behind.....

What is your care and feeding routine? Your coral mix is similar to what I eventually want to have in mine...

Thanks Nugget! Your tank looks awesome as well. You should't feel like you're falling behind. I only have a stocked tank because I cheated by adding established live rocks, seeded live sand and water. I didn't want to wait the cycle since the tank is in my office and I wanted it to look established asap.

Care and feeding routine:

test and change my water every week.

rinse the sponge every week

Blow the debris off my rocks with a turkey blaster every other day or so

empty and clean my skimmer cup every 3-5 days.

change the filter floss everyday.

Clean the glass evrytime I get the chance to

B-Ionic part1&2 everyday

1/2 cup reef solution everyday

I feed my corals every 3 days with frozen mysis mixed with reef solution using a syringe

I feed my percs Soft & moist Formula One Marine pellet with garlic.

upload your pictures onto photobucket.

Then copy and paste the code

do this

so there are paragraphs between the pictures.

You may be able to do that with an edit on your first post, maybe not I rarely attach pictures to a thread. Photobucket is the way to go.

what is your problem with the signature?

same hear.

Turn the koralia so that the cord is going vertical, then run it down the cord track.

I can see maybe 2" of mine if I look hard, it blends into the black background

Thanks Stevie. You always come through pronto :D

When I click my sig it says that it's out of date or broken. I'm still a noob when it comes to this stuff on N-R since this is my first thread for my tank on here.

Sweet tank and that live rock is bad a$$

Thanks Gerber, I bought it off a local reefer. It was $100.00 for about 42lbs, one of the greatest deal I had for this tank. I got lucky :D

Your tank looks very nice as well. Are you keeping yours bare bottom for good?

Thanks NYfishguy.

I'm turning the K2 right after I'm done typing this. I just noticed it when you guys pointed it out and it does look tacky.

Thanks again Stevie..

I fixed the K2's wire.

I also moved the blasto from the rock to the sand

And I took another pic. of right view of my RSM. It shows how gloomy it is here in the SF Bay Area.

Thanks guys!

Kim, I was particularly looking for baby black percs. I want to be able to raise them from where they're small.

They eat like pigs though, so they should grow fast within the next few months or so. :D

This was my very first tank I had a few years ago.It was a 30g arcylic. I was such a noob, I had a pretty good sized Sailfin tang in there along with a Maroon clown, Algae blenny and a candy twinspotted hogfish.

 Free advertisement for you Stevie.

Tony, I will vouch for the cup and the rack. It has served me well so far.

Yes it's on my list. Where near Hayward do you use for a LFS? Cross the bridge and go to AQ concepts? Im in the San Jose area and have lots to choose from.
