Thanks everyone for the very kind welcome and compliments on my tank, I'm glad you liked it. The "cornucopia of SPS"(lol) unfortunately will not be up much longer, maybe a month or so, as I'm planning a tank upgrade when I move here soon. I'll defnitely be sticking around, this place seems pretty chill, cool people and a lax environment.
Thanks again everyone. Couple more while I have the Photobucket open.: ![]() ![]() low quality washed out vid I took for fun some time back:

The "cornucopia of SPS"(lol) unfortunately will not be up much longer You could at least put it in the sub title for now till you tear the tank down Nice vid too. I like the clowns. Are they misbars? I could only really get a good look at their left side. One looked like it had a broken stripe on the right. -------------------- ![]() Powered by "The ULTIMATE LED Guide!" Yup, only a HOB skimmer and good flow with diligent water changes. No special additives, just fish poop.
Thanks. Yeah, the clowns are misbarred on one side. They're cool, chill fish for sure. A lot more laid back than past clowns I've owned. |

Thanks. Yeah, the clowns are misbarred on one side. They're cool, chill fish for sure. A lot more laid back than past clowns I've owned. Yea my two misbars are the best! They really stick to one main area and the only time they get a little agressive is if I have my hand in the tank at dinner time with no food lol. Then they just nip me and remind me what time it is. lol and I just noticed the title change. HURRAY! yeah my clowns will give me a nip here and there too. Kind of startles me sometimes, they've caused me to make some frags on more than one occasion lol.

Maybe the coral let them know when its time to frag, then they just swim right up and nip lol. I guess that the easy way to do it... even if it's not the prefered way. -------------------- ![]() Powered by "The ULTIMATE LED Guide!" Thanks!
No supplements in this tank so far. For flow I have: Tunze 6025 Korilia 2 Korilia 1 4 korilia nanos, 2 of which are positioned in each rear corner for detritus suspension. I have a tunze osmolator for AT0, this piece was a must for my tank as I evaporate a ton per day. For dosing I run bionic on drews dosing pumps controlled by digital timers with 4 on/off points throughout the day. Temp fluctuates from 78-80 daily, I don't like it when it gets over 80. I have 1 azoo cooling fan on back that's controlled by a timer for when the hqi is on. This post has been edited by myzislow: Nov 6 2009, 05:43 PM |

I have a SPS dominated BC29 and all I have is a single Tunze 6025 (modded to put out flow rate of 6055). Maybe by cutting back on the number of powerheads, the temps would go down? BTW, very nice tank, thanks for sharing. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Thanks
With my bulky scape and large SPS colonies I think it really is a must. Obv I could reduce the number of pumps and go with two vortechs mp 20s or something, but this has worked for me and the tank isn't going to be up much longer so I'm not messing with it. I just added the korilia 1 a couple of months ago as I was getting some STN on my pink lemonade and ponape rosaria colonies from lack of flow at the base area. The additional flow has stopped the recession. I know there is no way one 6025, modded or not, would work in my tank as the only source for flow. That's cool it works out for you though. I'm sure the temp would maybe go down a bit, but to be honest my tank has ran around ~79 since 2004 and for the most part everything seems to do well.
