WOW !!! This is one of the cleanest builds I've seen. Your corals have such intense colors. Do you have a picture of your tank and sump in the same shot?

Thanks and no I guess I do not have a picture with both together, I will try and post a decent one soon. My sump is beside the tank, just a little lower. Some corals are not as colourful as I would like them to be but I think it is hard to make everything happy in the tank at one time.

Wow! This is one of the cleanest scapes I have seen and you have amazing coloration! Definitely subscribing to your thread. This makes me want to rescape my tank again, but I glued things together last time so I couldn't keep fiddling with it too much. Beautiful reef! TOTM?

Thanks Beau, I'm in the process of adding and removing some corals, changing the livestock only, no rescaping. I will be posting an updated FTS when I find the SPS I need and get it just right. The tank is 7 months now and the SPS is starting to take off now, getting some good growth.

After putting it off for some time I finally upgraded my skimmer from a Coralife 65G to the one I just ordered, a Skimz SM 121. The Coralife was not cutting it anymore and this upgrade is long over due. Just thought I would share, me excited, lol.

I'm not sure how I missed this tank. But wow, everything about it is clean and beautiful!

Hey thanx a lot.

Just got my skimmer today, have it running in a bucket of SW to break it in. So far its running well. It will go in place of the existing one in the picture.

Added some new corals today, the favia and chalice are for my pico tank. The three mini colonies (Valida and 2 Millipora) are for the 20G. I will post a new FTS soon, tank has changed a bit since the last one.

Nice additions

Wow looks incredible!

Very clean look. Looks great.

Thanks all. It's a work in progress, still have a few things to do with the scape and corals.

Hey man,

Awesome tank! I see that you live in B.C. and I wonder where you shop for corals. You have some niece corals in your tank.

I have been making most of my purchases from Oceanic Corals Web Site in Aldergrove. Paul is awesome to deal with and he has an interesting selection of corals (colonies and frags) and reasonable prices. It's worth the travel. I was buying coral at J&L but their selection is not so great most of the time and they love to bring in all the brown and green corals [?].

Thank you, BTW your electron microscopy is brilliant.

This tank is amazing!

I'm inspired by your school of chromis, considering doing something similar with my larger tank.

Do you think 20g is enough for 6 chromis? A vid would be cool too!

Thanks, the six chromis are great in the tank, they have no other species to stress them out and they have lots of hiding places. I've often thought of getting a blenny but I want to keep the bioload low so no more fish. I will work on a video, but all I have is a iPhone, quality is lacking.

Getting some nice colour from most of the SPS in my reef, the problem with a LNS, if you can call it a problem, is that some corals get so light they lose there attractive colour and look more pastel to the eye. Some Acros tend not to be as susceptible to this, but the digitata get very pastel. See the two bottom pictures of a red digitata, first one the day it was added, the second one was taken today. You can see the dramatic colour change in the polyps and some growth. I do prefer the colour in the first digitata photo but getting the colour back would mean increasing the nutrients in my tank, not something I am willing to do. Just thought I would share, comments welcome.

Very nice! I love the lighting, and your scape is very nice and clean. I'm pea green with envy.

(and now I'm going to try to find a source for those lights. :))

Edit: I just thought about something. With your amazing fabrication skills, why did you opt for the Vertex fixtures instead of building your own lighting solution?
