metrokat
Bandit's Walk of Shame Every morning when the lights come on in the tank, Bandit the Acro Crab tries to surreptitiously make his way over from the Pocilliopora he spends the night in, to the ORA green birdsnest he spends the day in. I've been meaning to capture it on camera but always forget. Today, I didn't. You can see the only sliver of cyno I have in the tank, in these pictures also, right between the birdsnest and the montipora cap. Edited August 4, 2012 by metrokat Quote Link to comment

Jessy-Ray
ahhhh very nice, though I believe it is constructed primarily out of Aluminium Quote Link to comment
chrssprngs
Any thoughts on these? I like the slim design. Perfect for adding to a tank with existing T5s. http://www.finnex.net/index.php?option=com...1&Itemid=61 Quote Link to comment

chrssprngs
Would it be difficult to hang? This seems like it sits on the tank sides. No harder than any other fixture. I don't think they have the PAR values to be the only lighting on a tank of any size but they would be great as supplement/pop/shimmer lighting for those with T5s like me. My birthday is coming up. Just saying..... Quote Link to comment

Just saying..... A higher quantity of lower-powered LEDs isn't nearly as effective or as powerful as a lower quantity of higher-powered LED, so if you can find one that uses 2-3w LEDs instead of 1/10th-watt LEDs it would be better. IE, 6x 3w LEDs at 18w total will have much more output than 192x 1/10th watt LEDs at 20w total. Quote Link to comment
albertthiel
QUESTION: Does this clam appear to have a green tint to it or is it just me? I was telling kat it has a greenish gold tint to it ( of course she said no) under my halides, and just noticed you can KIND OF tell in the pic. But its more noticeable in person. Well it certainly does not look red :=) ... I go for green ... ! Quote Link to comment
altolamprologus
Zeph is going to give us the batfish and the regal angel as a wedding present. Ok fine, we were actually talking about pod cultures for my Mandarin. Zeph likes tigger pods and I had mentioned that you said they don't last very long because they don't hide like Tisbes do. he was trying to convince me to throw in a bottle of tigger pods in my sump. I said I would ask you first. I wouldn't do it. I feed my mandys tigger pods, but I culture them so I can feed a few thousand at a time so they find them easier. And I turn my pumps off for a while. The mandarins do get a decent amount, but the other fish eat 75% of them and the rest get stuck in the filter floss when I turn the pump back on. It's definitely not worth $20. I do encourage you to culture them though. They're easier than tisbe's if you can believe that. Quote Link to comment

Add a mandy. Quote Link to comment
altolamprologus
I'll read up on your tisbe culture thread then. No need. Get a bucket, fill it with saltwater, add some phyto, add bottle of tigger pods. Add more phyto when the water starts to clear and they'll breed like, well, tigger pods. Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Sickee Poo Fishie I noticed one of my neon gobies had a bump on his body. It's a protrusion, a tumor, of some sort. It looks perfectly round and beige/white. No it's not ich/ick Sp?), I know what ich looks like. This seems to be a parasitic type of thing, almost coming out of his body. I tried to get a picture but of course it's a little neon fish. Will try to get more pics tomorrow. Overall the fish is still active like always. Surprisingly the other neon or the cleaner shrimp has not cleaned this fish iup yet. All other fish are fine. The last addition of fish to this tank was April. patback
Check out the white spot in my fish's lip. Does it look like this? My watchman thinks its a clown and gets a little rambunctious around my torch pretty often. Quote Link to comment
