Doing good Kat - glad the Emaco held tight.

Things are going well. Been pretty busy and if all goes well I will be launching the online store with prebuilt nano and Pico structures, Zoa Islands and more jestersix reefscaping goodness really soon. I'll email you some preview pics soon.

oooh yes please send me pictures!!! Pico structures will have a huge market, in fact Micro-reefs is a sponsor on this forum, he might be a good contact for you.

I'm wi-fi connected :)

Realized that the Apex is super sensitive to temperature fluctuations, it was shutting my fan on and off every few seconds. I edited the acceptable range in the controller and it has been good after that.

Now I need to download an app for the android and scare my cat when he's sitting watching the tank. muhahahaha.

Once you do this, I'd like to hear you're opinion about ease of use and the interface. Also, do they have an app for the iPhone? Gracias. C.J.

The neptune looks pretty sweet. Let me know how you like it because I'm thinking about using one for my 120 gallon.

Very easy to configure. The hardest part is gaining access to it's IP address which I'm wasn't savvy enough to do without help the first time.

:o Very bright!

It's a Jason Fox ;)

Last picture for today. GEOWGE the Midas, still hides much more than he comes out to play. But his color is a steady butter yellow and not spotted anymore. In the shadows he has an iridescent turquoise color also. His relationship with the clowfish is batty, sometimes they chase him away (they are doing the jiggy, shaking, cleaning up an area of the rock) and sometimes they hang with him.

They do have an app for iPhone, Androids have to use a 3rd party app I believe.

Will post about the app interface, so far the web interface is awesome and easy.

Very cool JF stuff is always awesome. He's quite the collector. Although that frag looks a little rough when you got it. A little TLC has brought it a long way since then.

Lots of updates, :)

First, I had to make a trip to my LFS to get Rowa phos and what should I find?! :ninja:

I can't wait for lights on to take a picture of "Au". :ninja:

(Zeph is not allowed to spoil the fun even though he is jelly of my find)

But in the meantime, look at the pretty nudis they had!

If they weren't a mystery to keep they would be in my tank already, the perfect color!

Look at this bad boy! He was smaller than a tiger pistol they had in the compartment right next to him

This is from Manhattan Aquariums store during my shopping spree weekend, a blue spiny lobster, a big one, seriously bad azz

This clownfish was so happy smothering himself in the RBTA, the lights over head made it look pink, at first I was like whoa a pink clownfish

I love this guy! I go looking for him whenever I get over there. :D

I'm sooo jelly of your Apex. (get it? I'm jelly... snort)

I'm holding off for now due to impending summer tank move. You're going to be my Apex goto gal. I'm so gonna pick your brain. (In a nice way, not a brain eating zombie way...)

Your coral growth is fabulous. I love seeing the improvement over time. Everything is looking amazing and healthy.

The Story of Au

My love of yellow corals and fish also lends itself to clams. Meeting Zeph, who I refer to as the clam man and more recently the clamnapper, I got sucked into the world of clams with his giant 20 and 30 incher T.Gigas and other miscellaneous clams. He's got an addiction and it's infectious. At first I resisted getting a clam at this stage because the tank was young, but I just realized that the tank is 4 1/4 months old already! So lately I found myself looking daily on divers den. I fell in love with a super gold squamosa which was always out of stock. Now those are mostly beige and tan IRL, the lighting makes it orangy or yellowish. I would never have known that had I not met Zeph. A gold Maxima however, is a true yellow, and also almost never seen: another thing I would not have known if I had not met Zeph.

So I was at my fav LFS yesterday and I saw a darling little yellow clam along with the usual blue ones, all croceas. One XL "gold" squamosa. I took a picture of the little yellow guy and sent it off to Zeph. We were on the phone 30 seconds later. "That's a maxima!" he says. (you have to understand how excited this man gets at the thought of maximas!). I think in that case it is $270 according to one of the 1000 sticky notes on the board above this tank, which I'm not going to pay. But anyway, I call Pat over who I usually work with at the store. And he says "That's a Maxima".

I hold my breath, say a little prayer and ask the price. He reads the same sign I had and says hmm that's $70 but for you Kat, dyu want it? I'll do $55. As Zeph would say. The clam was calling out my name. And so without further jabber. Here's Au, a Gold Maxima!

At the store (the bitty one in the back)

Snuck up on the tank late night to take this crappy phone pic with a flash

IMG_20120506_001007.jpg

And today with lights on and after Au has attached

IMG_4469.JPG

I'm worried about starving him so I asked Zeph if he would mind being a foster clam parent. He said I wouldn;t get that gold Maxima back. CLAMNAPPER!
