kgoldy
Live Aquaria selling ORA Red Mandarins for $99. Every single ORA mandarin I've seen is ugly as hell, with colors nowhere near as rich as wild caught. Am I alone in this observation? Link to comment

FlCandy
So KG I am getting either the Yasha pair or a yasha to replace the one that went permanently MIA in the tank, how did you acclimate your Yasha's? Should I just float the bag and add the water every 10-15 minutes? Or should I drip45 minutes-1 hour then temp acclimate 5-10 minutes? I want this pair to be as stress free as possible. kgoldy
I drip acclimate for 45 minutes... Or really I just lied. I do the bag float while scooping in 1/8 to 1/4 cup into the bag every 10 minutes. Dump bag in after 50% of the water in it is my tanks water. I've haven't actually drip acclimated anything in forever. Just got some mini cucumbers and they did just fine with that kind of acclimation. Link to comment

Thanks, I will do that method but refrain from DUMPING the bag water in the tank, I will net them out. LOL Thanks Link to comment

What else have you been keeping from me! What else came in that shipment, reveal all. Also if you ever find the porcelain crab, you have to name her Kat. To be reminded of who is Kat's REAL mommy. kgoldy
There was only one porcelain on the list that you gave me! And John called me and said "I think I can find those two porcelain crabs you wanted" so you're lucky they both didn't go into my tank... ...(to disappear. No idea where it went. Looks like next order I'll have to get 6 if I ever want to see them again). And okay, okay. I also got a mystery conch that's not gigantic like the Florida ones he gave me the first time around. But I am 100% sure that one's mine! Oh. And a pistol shrimp. Because mine keep deciding digging in the back of the tank where I can't see them is more fun than being where I can watch what they're doing. And somehow those barberpoll gobies made it back up out of the overflow, against the current, and into the 90 where they belong. No idea how the eff they did that. They're magic fish. Oh, and I got a rockskipper blenny. It looks like a more googly-eyed version of Jose the Algae Blenny. He's a very timid fish... Hangs out on the highest rock in the back of the tank behind the mangrove roots. Won't move for anything buy mysis... Then returns to wedge himself into the rock against the glass. I do second that motion. Maaaaaa! The girls are ganging up on me again! Link to comment
metrokat
You got all that and there are no pictures? Porcelains need a coral to host (or a nem), if they don't find that they are likely to go hide. You could get a group but since they stay so little, they are too cute to have disappear. You may want to consider having them in a critter keeper with a coral, maybe some zoas or something soft and anemone-like. Let them recognize it and host it for at least 2 weeks, then move the whole circus to the tank. Link to comment

kgoldy
Little Kat the crab floated gently to my big torch. Where she is now... no one knows. My dogs are having a tough time adjusting to the fact that my two+ week vacation is over, so they're being attention hogs. Haven't had time to search every inch of the tank. Link to comment

kgoldy
Pics were taken immediately after feeding time... Vortechs were off, but return pump on. Cyclopeeze was EVERYWHERE, and water looks cloudy from all the frozen food debris. ...as I was taking pics, suddenly it became harder and harder to get good shots... I didn't realize the lights were slowly dimming and turning more blue for nighttime. Haha. Maybe this weekend I'll get around to taking some shots under the 14,000k setting. I think that'll look good. Link to comment
