It's gonna be in the hundreds here the next two days!!!!! I miss fall weather. Looks like you have everything back in order to me!!!!! Is the stag on the very top right rock? And also center on the sand? What color is it? How are the fish doing in quarantine? Link to comment

Looks like you have everything back in order to me!!!!! Is the stag on the very top right rock? And also center on the sand? What color is it? How are the fish doing in quarantine? Everything is back in order, I just need to keep my damn arm out of the tank for a week to let things settle down. The stag is on the top and in the middle. There were 2 branches that had the STN. I fragged off the STN and also removed the branches entirely from the main colony so I could watch them. Their polyp extension is not the same as the rest of the coral, and I was hoping that if there was just some sort of issue with those pieces to keep it away from the rest of the coral. It might be weird to do but I was being paranoid. Interestingly enough, where I fragged away the STN, the coral is already growing new flesh over the skeleton. The coral when I got it was being kept under 3x250W MH and some VHO atinics in a 220gallon high aquarium. It was a brown base with blue tips and brown polyps. Currently under my lighting the coral is turning all blue, with a green base and brown polyps. Its really quite pretty, I just can't seem to take a good picture of it. Fish are fine, eating well. I'm done dipping them. That was stressful and I hope I don't have to do that again anytime soon. Link to comment
gena
That stag sounds awesome!!!!! I'm glad the fish are doing well!!!! I had to do a FW dip on my fish before. They had flukes. It was probably more stressful for me than it was for the fish I made sure the temp and pH was exactly like the tank. It went quite well, actually. But, it's definitely something I don't want to do often! Link to comment

Nano sapiens
Looks like you've had some real challenges, lately. This is one hobby where when you think you've got everything 'just right'...BAM! I see things have settled down, so that's good. Beautiful blue on that Acro! Link to comment

This is one hobby where when you think you've got everything 'just right'...BAM! I see things have settled down, so that's good. Beautiful blue on that Acro! Seems like things are under control, then one of your quarantined fish starts to do weird things like looking sick again. At least he's in the QT I guess. Looking good. Thanks! No where near as good as your reef. I'm losing some color in my greens, and my really light blues, and one of the others to be purple is going green on me and I'm not really sure why. I need to get my nutrients under control, and keep my hands out of the tank for a while. I have a suspicion that I may have induced a mini cycle by adding some rocks that I thought were cured and may not have been, and perhaps by stirring up the semi dsb in my fuge by accident. I didn't test anything so I'm not sure about that but its possible. Link to comment

pyronus
Purdy blue! That must be a good sign! It might be, we shall see. Some things look good, other things not so much. Ooohhh...very nice!!!!! Is that the one you want me to get? Yea, its lineage is unknown, but its most likely a pacific acro. Unless you can find someone that has an atlantic SPS from long ago still living you are going to have an impossible time trying to find one. Your best bet would be to find a stag thats most like the atlantic stags and use that if you really wanted. Looking good indeed pyronus Thank you very much Albert. I did what I said I wouldn't do. I bought a zoa rock that has RDE's and some unknown speckled zoas on it. But it also has some mushrooms on it, which are something I never really wanted, but what can you do, the rock was only $10. Worth it... Link to comment

gena
Oh wow!!!!!! Gorgeous clam!!!!! That's one thing I've never tried in any of my saltwater tanks. They seem so delicate and difficult. But they are so cool!!!!!! Ummmm....you know you're supposed to do a FTS when you add some like that. So we can see where you placed it in the tank As far as the acro, I've decided against it. But, what's a Bermuda Green Slimer (or is tha a joke )? I liked Felicia's green slimer Link to comment

flampton
Oh my, someone else from Rochester. Oh wait, I'm out of there, though I miss a bunch of peeps. Down south now, a different place for sure. Your tank is looking pretty sweet. That tabling acro off the back wall is sweet and will turn out majestic, I'm sure, but you'll probably need to get a bit bigger of a tank eventually So where did you end up getting the clam? not much for LFS up there as far as I can remember, Caribbean Forest? they are good people if the store is still there. I will be following along Link to comment

I liked Felicia's green slimer Hah, Gena, theres no such thing as a bermuda green slimer. We're just trying to bring you to the darkside. I'll take a FTS tomorrw, the whites went out and I was left with atinics only before my WC was over. I'm not sure clams are all that difficult to keep as long as you keep up with water changes and you keep your cal/alk/mag in the right range. I am pretty obsessive about parameters, so it shouldn't be too much more work than I'm already doing. Oh my, someone else from Rochester. Oh wait, I'm out of there, though I miss a bunch of peeps. I've got kids now and its hard to move away from a good job. I'd leave if something came up though, but never for the west coast (Sorry Gena), I'm a right coast kinda guy. I got the clam from ABC Aquarium. It might have not been around depending on how long you've been gone. Its about 3 minutes from my house and the guy that runs it is really great, I talked to him about getting some new products in, and hes going to order them for me. Specifically a K+ supplement and Aquavitro Fuel. I'd love a bigger tank, I've been tossing the idea around of a custom 90 gallon, next year maybe. Gotta save up because it would probably be a DIY. I'll prolly just end up with a 40B though. For real? A LFS called Caribbean Forest????? Where's the fainting emoticon???? Caribbean Forest is a figment of what it was in the early 2000's unfortunately. I think it might have changed owners, their coral selection is dismal, and their seahorse display has been void of seahorses for years now. It does have the biggest green nepthea I have ever seen though which is pretty cool. They have a couple of young hotshot reefer kids working there right now and they are doing all the ordering so its coming back, but for a few years all you could buy was bubble coral and GSP. I love wearing the color gray (all shades) I read people wear a lot of gray in NYC. I'd love to live there someday. But, we're stuck here for awhile. It's not so bad.
