Crap!! Sorry to hear about the loss of the fish. Always sucks no matter what the cause is. I wouldn't let it affect the way you feel about your husbandry skills....like humans, we can get run down/stressed and infection(s) is waiting to take advantage. Unfortunately, there's no MedCare Express for our fish :(

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys.

Brooklynella is one of those things where if you dont catch it, it kills your fish in a day. I guess she wasn't eating Sunday and was acting funny, and Yesterday when I got home it was too late.

I need to get the other fish out and start the formalin treatment so I dont lose anything else. I don't want to have a fishless display for 2 months, but we do what we have to do.

Man today sucks, first fish loss ever, AND I had to put my baby boy on the bus for his first day of Kindergarten this morning. What a September this is already!

Son of a nutcracker...sounds like a doozy of a day :( On the bright side, your son is one step closer to helping you mow the lawn :D

Really stinks that you have to go fishless for a while....just means you can focus solely on those awesome new sticks you got. Grow em out nice and big and the fish you get down the road will have an SPS forest to swim around instead of a couple frags.

Thanks guys, if it wasn't for this forum sometimes it would be really difficult to keep running the tank. It's nice to have a place to come where others understand and there is so much help and encouragement with not only aquarium stuff but life too. Thanks again, it helped today.

Really couldn't agree with you more!! Although there are other forums out there, it's the great people on here that make it the best.

Bravo!! Love the way you have the tabling Red Planet mounted on the back.

Thanks Adam, it was a little stressed out and had lost a lot of color in that shot. When you look at it now just a week later its already encrusting its epoxy, and the red is really something else.

I am going to try and get some individual coral shots later tonight if I can. This whole school thing is really throwing us for a loop.

^This!! You have some really nice specimens in there!

Thanks! Its really hard for me to pick a favorite. I'm really starting to enjoy my branching hammer. It's coloring up nicely with regular feedings, and of course all the SPS are doing great. I noticed my echinata is encrusting the plug and it has some budding branches. The large stag colony is almost fully encrusted over its superglue base and the edges of the individual frags will meet up this month somewhere in the middle.

The fastest grower is the green acro, its got so much growth its kinda hard to keep track of it all. I have been watching the colors of my new montipora and its just looking a little greyish, I think its time to order something to raise my K, and get a water change done.

Looking great! Did you get the other fish into the hospital?

Yeah, I got the GCG out last night by tempting him with some mysis and cyclops. It wasn't easy, I took the entire sps rock out and put it in the fuge. I also did something drastic to the left side of the tank, but it looks much better now. Its going to wind up being my zoa/ric garden

I'm a Zoa/Paly addict. Want a lot more than I have.

I really think a single rock covered with different types of Zoa's and Paly's really adds to the mature look of a tank, that and a few different types of macro algae can really make a tank look like an actual reef instead of a pile of rocks with some corals glued to them.

Also, anyone have an LFS near them that sells Aquavitro Fuel?

I'd have to drive 200 miles to get some, and I'd really love to try it out. If a member has an LFS that sells it near them and would be willing to do a little paypal buy and ship deal, that would be amazing.

It's so clean and beautiful!!!!!!

Awesome vacation shots!!!! I'm assuming that's you skiing????

Next time I go to my LFS, I'll see if he has it. It would be no problem for me to ship it out to you. I'm always at the post office for our business.

Ok...have to ask. Am I going crazy or is your avatar always alternating between two photos???????

Thanks, I'm not sure its so clean, the water actually looks kinda cloudy in the pictures. But still, Thanks!

Yes'm thats me skiing, I was looking through the 500 pictures of me skiing and that was one of the better ones.

You aren't going crazy, depending on what browser im using or if I'm using my phone or whatever, if its like the first load of the thread its my old av, and then if I hit refresh its my new one. I changed it to the MTB tire from my old Space Ghost av earlier this summer and its all wonky sometimes. I have no idea whats going on with it. Its supposed to be the mountain bike tire now though.

I was elbow deep in saltwater with razor blades and super glue last night. :o

I also got some Chaeto in the mail yesterday from non other than Rehype. Hopefully I can transfer some his reef magic into my tank, and I can get some nuisance algae under control. The fuge was previously empty, unlit, and just a spot for some extra live rock. I hooked up a spiral CF and set it to run an opposite light cycle with the last output on my RKL.
