You take some great pictures with that camera setup.

I have a 20H on the same stand from Ikea. It's been bomb proof to spills and splashes so far. Holding up a lot better than I thought for 50 bucks on sale. It looks so good I wouldn't mind getting a custom tank to fit the dimensions better. I have mine set up as a peninsula behind the couch. Just the right height for the top of the couch to be level with the stand.

It's a Bumble Bee Shrimp. I have 2 of them, but the other one was off hunting around. This one thought the urchin looked like a good meal, so he followed it around all evening but never did any damage to it

I can't really help with FTS' without knowing anything about your camera. But if your problem is that your sand is blown out then you need to raise the shutter speed.

Omigosh, cute shrimp!

inoright?

I don't remember the type but they grow pretty big. This one is only the size of a dime though, so it'll be a while before he outgrows the tank.

Yeah this little bookshelf is ideal for nano tanks!

I'm not even kidding when I say that you will be coming to take pictures of my tank once it is grown in. Seriously.

Will work for frags :D

The Bumble Bee Shrimp will feed upon the tube feet of echinoderms......Very nice setup... :happydance:

If my observations are accurate so far, it doesn't look like he'll feed off of him to the point of killing it. I'm going to pick up another urchin or 2 to spread the "love" I think.

Also, first fish :D

They'll eat lots of stuff, but people often buy them to try to get rid of flatworms.

Fish looks great man, I normally am not a fan of 6lines, but your pictures are so damn good it's hard not to like him haha.

The wife picked him out, but I like them too. We wanted something that would add a lot of movement to the tank.

2 would most certainly fight.

Gotta love 6-lines...actually thinking about adding one to my current tank. Used to have one in my 55 back a couple of years ago and unfortunately, it gotta a little too full of itself and just pestered my other fish in the end. Maybe I'll have better luck adding a smaller one and having it be the last fish to join the tank.

How are you liking the "south" so far? You and the wife been out and about exploring Charleston yet?

Nah we haven't made it down to Charleston in a while, right now we're house hunting in all our free time :D

I'm hoping that this guy won't turn into a bully, but I guess we'll see.

I'm gettin' there :) I'm still throwing out about 10 shots for every decent one with this macro lens though.

You must be psychic...when I typed my last comment I was going to ask what percentage of your shots you use.

The hardest part is getting good lighting with the macro shots. If the subject is under an overhang there's no point in even taking pictures.

Reason for lack of updates

I did an 80% water change last night and have killed the light on the tank for 2 days though. I think it's pretty much done for at this point.

That stuff would start growing back within minutes of me scraping the glass.

WOW that is a lot of green. What do you attribute it to right now, just normal start up growth? The window it is next to? The Incredible Hulk?
