I'm seriously considering adding a small yellowtail damsel (and a Nassarius to compensate for waste). Any thoughts?

I miss my pico. :(

Also I wasn't aware that you live in NYC. I was just there a few weeks ago.

You should start another one, but do a biotope of some sort. I've been thinking about doing a majano/mantis tank with my pico after I start my cube.

Let me know if you make it back to the city. It'd be great to meet up.

Well, I put my few tickets into the RODI bin and sure enough, I WON!

Haha that's awesome man, you got some good luck. Didn't you win something at another show? I could swear I remember reading something like that in your thread. Anyway though, that's really cool, congrats!

Yes, that's a falcon sitting on my porch. Specifically, a Eurasian Kestrel.

Very cool!

Thanks! Yeah, I won a couple small things, but nothing like this.

Yeah, I couldn't believe this bird. It sat on the railing of our porch (which is literally 16 inches from our window), for about an hour and stared at us while we watched it and moved around. Nothing seemed to phase this thing. Not even our cat coming up to the window and pawing at it. It seemed as curious about us as we were about him. I got a bunch of pictures. We still see it once in a while.

Havent checked in for a while, the frags you picked up at the swap look really cool, and grats on winning the raffle. I just got a ro/di unit myself for my new setup and im super excited to get it up and going. So what are those "yellow brick road" zoa's really called? i love the colors on them but could never picture myself droping 300 on a frag.

Thanks SK! I hope you enjoy your RODI. I'm excited to set mine up.

Those zoas are called 24K Zoas. Here's a coralpedia link:

I've seen them sell for $25/polyp. My cost estimate was conservative since the frag has at least 27 polyps.

Hello All,

I'm sad to say that my pico has met it's end for now. I got a new job. So, I'm leaving NYC and moving to Chicago. Rather than suffer all the fuss of moving the tank across the country, I decided to sell off my stock and start over again after all the madness is over. I sold all my corals to a local reefer. He was a really nice guy and offered to ship me a bunch of frags from my corals after I have my new tank set up. I haven't decided what to do with the tank for the moment. I may sell it or keep it around, perhaps to do a pest nem tank, xenia madness, or some other kind of biotope.

I'm sure some of you have heard me mention plans for my next tank, the 25 gallon cube. I can't wait to have a tank big enough to actually put a couple fish in. I'll be starting a new tank thread after I get that going. For now, I'll still be around the forum looking at all of your beautiful reefs and leaving comments.

Thank you to everyone for your support over the last 18 months. I couldn't have done it without my friends here at nano-reef and the pico forum. Cheers for now.

Mr. M out!

Thanks friar! It's been quite the learning experience.

Thanks jdl! Hopefully I can keep my head on straight during the next couple months of changes. Everything is happening so fast right now.

Good luck and can't wait to see the next tank.

So... are you keeping your light fixture? :P

Thanks alfiefive! I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the fixture. I may try to sell it or perhaps I'll reuse it.

Can't wait to see the next incarnation. :)

Thanks el fab! Me too. I'm really looking forward to the day when I can come home after a long day and stare into a blue wonder-world again.

Same here Mr.M. It was an awesome tank.

Thanks am! Reef-on!

Been following your thread, and wish you the best.

If you decide to sell your light fixture, please PM me, I think we're fairly close to each other, no shipping involved.

Thanks ap123 (like the name BTW, it's gotta good ring to it). I'll let you know about the light.

Thanks Newman! It's in a better place now...back in it's original box underneath my desk.  I can't wait to take it back out and fill it with some water. So many possibilities.

Thanks Cheapreef! There's gotta be more Chicago people here. We'll find 'em. I've been looking into Chicago reefing clubs. I found CMAS. It seems to be a very active community, but it doesn't have it's own forum like manhattanreefs.com. It piggybacks on RC and UF with a small subheading. I imagine this makes things like sharing one's tank with the people in your area a challenge. Also, I'm guessing that selling and trading livestock and hardware could be made smoother. A friend of mine is a web designer and I'm an amateur graphic artist. We're thinking about starting a new forum just for reefers in the Chicagoland area. Though I don't want to step on any toes. It'd be great to bring CMAS into it somehow.

I was 100% making a "good luck CAN I HAVE YOUR STUFF?" joke :P More important part of my post: can't wait to see the next reincarnation!
