Project is DIY intensive. That thread covers most of the Pics of both tank cabinet build and lamp build. This is my concept. Mess of wires and project box View of the Project Box before I added goodies After I added goodies, boy was it crampped Epic Fan Overkill. I will try to sneak stealths in at a later date. OoooooH shiney! Craptacular pic, but you can basically get the gist of it. The hood was originally designed to take 3 CPF screw in bulbs. They did okay but they were not very nice. How it originally looked. (before I put the silver sticker reflector thing in. Thanks Evil for your help and advice. Edited March 17, 2011 by Sunstar Quote Link to comment

redfishsc
If you have room for a saltless marine "amazonian reef", then here we go. 2 tanks: 45g cube, and an 11g rimless (36" long). Warning, this is nuts, and totally experimental, and overkill, but actually looks spectacular in the end. Build thread. Unit has digital ammeters in a custom, movable swing-arm canopy for tank access. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/tank-jou...less-glass.html All LEDs on (45g, 23" cube planted fw tank). 3 Meanwell ELN60-48 dimmable drivers. String ONE-- 8 XPG neutral white, 2 Bridgelux 402 cool white. String TWO-- 12 XRE royal blue (missed one of them when soldering, whoops). String THREE (dawn/dusk cycle)-- 1 20w Satistronics 15,000K white, 4 XPG cool white, 2 XPE red, 4 Rebel cyan. Whites-- 500mA....... Blues, 150mA......... Dawn/Dusk, 190mA 11g rimless tank for red cherry shrimp and dwarf cory cats. 4 royal blue XPE, 3 warm white XPG, 3 neutral white XPG, 3 cool white XPG. 500mA current, no optics, 4" from water surface in custom light hood. Amazingly, no visible spotlighting even spread out over a 35" length. Meanwell ELN60-48 dimmable. Edited June 27, 2011 by redfishsc Quote Link to comment
lpsouth1978
Here is my latest build, sorry I don't have a build thread for it. This build has: 6 Cree XP-E RB 5 Cree XP-G CW 2 RapidLED moonlights 2 1000mA dimmable buckpucks w/pot 1 350mA dimmable buckpuck w/pot I used a small project box to hold the buckpucks and power plugs. Each of the colors is on its own power supply and dims seperately. I got a heatsink/fixture from nanotuners.com, drilled a hole in the back to run the wires through, and drilled some holes in the top so I could hang the fixture above the tank. This is hanging over my 3 pico maxi mini anemone tank. these pics are old and I had just finished my cycle, but they are the only ones I have that show the light above the tank. I hope you all like it. Quote Link to comment

TinyGiant
Custom GU10 Ebay LED hood/hanger for 28g JBJ nanocube pretty much done with the custom build I am doing for a club members 28g nanocube. It will house a total of 16 of the ebay gu10 leds (http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=267432) he has the stand with the metal risers so there is a dead space the cross on the bottom of the arm will slide into to counter lever and lock it into place. All i need now is the fans to show up so i can mount them on the rear and the led strips to use as moon lights. This has been a fun project. The metal arm is a TV wall mount stand arm inverted. The kind of thing that mounts an old crt tv to the wall. Quote Link to comment
