UH Urchinhead, Is it this white one that is the potential coral eater? I also have a Tuxedo urchin in the clam tank. The Priests Hat urchin in this picture has been moved to another tank Link to comment
Brent F
In another thread I was talking about brittlestars and nudibranches in a RSM. Here's a picture of one of my Lettice Nudibranches and here's a night shot of the Pink Brittlestar which is growing rapidly Link to comment

Brent F
Can you PM on the fixture on the clam pool(which is AWSOME) 250watt Aqua Medic. I bought it for the styling and because I didn't want actinics with the clams. Link to comment
richlids
Wow you're right, your brittlestar is pretty big and I love the way the nudibraches look. I think I'm gonna have to give them a try in my tank. Link to comment
Urchinhead
Its the one in the clam tank. Actually both the "priest's hat" and the one with orange spines. The tuxedo is fine. UH Link to comment
Brent F
Wow you're right, your brittlestar is pretty big and I love the way the nudibraches look. I think I'm gonna have to give them a try in my tank. A lot of nudibranches are toxic and shouldn't be kept in a reef tank. The lettice is one of few that is reef safe and they are real interesting. They are also a good size for a RSM. Here's a hitchiker cucumber I found under a rock i my tank. I moved it to a tank I have of non-reef safe inhabitants and rabid growing frags because I was concerned it was toxic. Link to comment
Brent F
I'm tired of my urchins tearing up my SPS so decided to setup another tank to move the urchins to. I picked up a 90 gal, 67 gal and ASM G1-X skimmer used for a third the cost of my RSM. This will be setup as a FOWLR tank with a refugium in the sump setup as a second display. I won't mention this one again because it isn't a nano Link to comment

brian92
That Clam Pool is awesome I have thought about something like that before but thought it would be too difficult. How deep is it? Link to comment
Brent F
That Clam Pool is awesome I have thought about something like that before but thought it would be too difficult. How deep is it? The clam tank is 20 X 20 X 9 so has 7 1/2 inches of water depth. I bought the tank used so ended up with this depth because that's what the prior owner built. The tanks is low maintenance because it is plumbed into the same sump as the RSM. Here's a picture showing how it it tied in and a picture showing the skimmer and Zeovit reactor it shares with the RSM Link to comment
Ocho Cinco
Being called a Tank-a-holic and I haven't mentioned the koi pond in the back yard Yeah, your like, I just picked up a 90 gallon and am using that. Like no big deal. I wish I had one!!! The clam pool is SWEET!!! Link to comment
Brent F
Yeah, your like, I just picked up a 90 gallon and am using that. Like no big deal. I wish I had one!!! The clam pool is SWEET!!! I was looking for a 36 to 50 gallon tank used but found the 67 gal, 90 gal and skimmer for $260 total! I have a spare light and will wait until someone is shutting down a tank to get the life rock. The bigest cost item is going to be a pump. Overall this tank will cost about the same as a stock RSM. Link to comment
Brent F
Finally got a jawfish for the deep sand bed in my nanocube 6 Frog fish day 1 and 10 days later. It is closer to the rock colour now ) Link to comment
Brent F
I wanted to be able to keep the RSM filled high enough for the top trim to hide the water surface. Here’s a mod I did to the RSM to get it to surface skim without having to lower the water. I cut out the section of the power cord channel over the grate and extended the slots in the grate using a Dremil. Link to comment
StevieT
I understand it now, great mod if you want to hide the water level! Link to comment
