lawnmowerblenny
Im digging the hand fed chromis! My clowns will almost jump for flakes... Have had no luck with my pair of chromis tho, they seem shy to the hands for some reason. Link to comment
Spirofucci
First post here. I have just finished reading every word. What a journey! Great thread on the tank as well as very informative, friendly and funny. It was cool to see you go from noobish reefer all the way to expert and businessman in a few days! I only have a FW african tank but have been dreaming of a very large reef tank for years but never seemed to have the $$ or more importantly the time to devote to it. I am an extreme lurker on RC in the large tank builds. I have never considered a nano tank before for all the reasons you nano guys and gals hear all the time. You have changed my mind! Now to continue on to your index and the rest of NR in search of the best AIO, but I think I know which one is best! Thanks, mark Link to comment
StevieT
Hey Mark- and thank you for the kind words. The tank is still up and running almost 4 years old now. Wish I had more time to update with pictures and enjoy it by purchasing corals. But the focus is on the business now. Glad it could help you I would love to have a larger tank but this is perfect and much cheaper for me right now. Link to comment
picoreef78
Thanks for the info on the lights. Just curious but why did you choose to upgrade your lights to MH? Link to comment

StevieT
Thanks for the info on the lights.Just curious but why did you choose to upgrade your lights to MH? You're welcome. It's that bug you get when you get into this hobby, you always want something better. The stock lights did great some days I miss the hood. I love the shimmer of MH but hate the heat. Sweet haven't saw this thread in awhile, looking forward to recent pics. I will try, it's hard I work for everyone's tank now. Link to comment
picoreef78
Have you noticed better growth? Or just the bug to make it better? I would have to say your tank is amazing, thanks for all the great inspiration. Link to comment
StevieT
I wanted more SPS mid range so yes it did help with that. but the stock lights did fine for the SPS I stocked up high. I would say see how it goes for you and upgrade down the road, unless you have money running out of your ears that you want to burn. I think I ran the stock hood for 1.5 years. Link to comment
jedidad
I just got a Red Mandarin that is from the wild. It is't eating any frozen foods or anything of that nature. Do you have any tips on how to train it? I started a culture of Brine Shrimp last night at 7 P.M. and they haven't hatched yet. How long does it usually take for them to hatch? Any tips or info are greatly appreciated! Thanks. Try Nutramar Ova prawn eggs. thats what ORA feeds theirs and it worked great for me. good luck Link to comment

Jacobnano
Is this tank still alive Stevie? Link to comment
StevieT
lol It's still alive. Just doesn't get the attention or photoshoots that it used to. Life changed no time to fill it with new corals but the ones that are in there are growing in nicely against the newest scape. Maybe we'll get a new pic up someday soon. Thanks for checking in. TimberC
Wow man, those pics where you are feeding the fish are wicked. I also like your Ric garden and your whole tank is pretty sweet looking too. What about full tank pic update Link to comment

StevieT
wow i have skimmed througth and there is so much chage in the tank from the begging to the end you need a new pic new pic pls I'll try this weekend Tank update, yeah they don't come as often any more. Mrs. Clown has passed away she died two weeks ago. Normal I don't really feel bad if a fish passes away, they die and stuff. But my B&W clown was the face of my company. She literally was the dot on the i of inTank. I digitally traced a photo of her years ago and made her into a brand. She wasn't eating as much for a few weeks then one night I came how to find her barely alive stuck to the intake grate. She is now enjoying time in Lake Michigan. The tough thing about adding new fish is the Bangaii. He has taken out a few in the past so no guess what fish he will pick if added. Now the debate, you have to have a clown IMO in a SW tank. So go with another black or go to the orange side? I suck at water changes. I do them every 4-6 weeks now. But corals still have growth I just don't stock heavy on the SPS anymore. I suck at scraping hard algae off the glass. That is done on the water change schedule. I do keep up with normal maintenance such as adding RODI to the ATO, and changing the filter floss. The tank is now 4 years 2 months old This thread has been viewed 441,359 times Link to comment

Spirofucci
Truly sorry to hear about the B & W. I think you should think about trying another. BTW, since you are now Mr. Money bags with the new biz, you should be able to afford and hire a "tank boy" or on second thought a tank girl, but they are more expensive! -mark Link to comment
